About the North America Internship Program
Our Internship Program offers an unparalleled platform to enable rapid career development. You will join our New York office for 10 weeks from June to August to work directly with our clients and have the opportunity to gain hands-on consulting experience and skills through direct exposure to senior management teams within some of the world’s largest insurers, while simultaneously supporting key internal initiatives.
New Interns starting at Alpha FMC are provided with a developmental three-day ‘Alpha Internship Training Program’ designed to provide you with key consulting skills as well as a solid network within your cohort. The Training Program will consist of the following: tool-specific training (e.g. Excel charting/PowerPoint design); soft skill training (e.g. time management, leadership, presentation skills); ‘Management Consulting 101’ (including project management skills and effective stakeholder management); and ‘Introduction to Insurance’. You will have the opportunity to meet and learn directly from a range of Alpha Subject Matter Experts who will present client projects and explain the different focus areas within Alpha.
Following the Internship Training Program, you will likely be working on a client engagement with a small to medium sized team (2 to 6 consultants). The engagement may be located across North America and could require travel, with costs covered by Alpha. Engagements vary in focus — some are technology-driven (e.g., systems implementation, data and digital transformation) while others center on strategy, operations, or distribution — so no specific technical background is required, and we welcome applicants from all majors and academic disciplines to apply. As advisors to the world’s top insurers, you’ll be working alongside senior executives from the industry and helping them to solve their most challenging business problems and achieve their goals.
Alpha believes in supporting its employees through development and coaching – you will receive frequent mentoring from your colleagues. This will include a senior colleague from Alpha North America who will help you grow and achieve your career goals. Additionally, you will have an Alpha Buddy at the Analyst or Consultant level to assist with your onboarding and integration into the firm. At the end of your internship, you may receive an offer to join us as a full-time Analyst after the completion of your degree.
