The Opportunity

Alpha Inc. is seeking a strategic, hands-on Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead our enterprise-wide technology efforts and fuel our next stage of growth. This role is not for the faint of heart. We move fast, solve real problems, and build with purpose. The CIO will help unlock operational efficiency across our construction, concrete, and energy business lines—driving transformation at scale.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the CEO, the CIO will shift Alpha from reactive IT to proactive innovation. You’ll architect a future-proof technology ecosystem, integrate acquisitions with speed and precision, and build a service-focused IT culture that’s deeply embedded in the business.

What You Will Do

Technology Strategy & Business Alignment

• Develop and execute an IT roadmap aligned with Alpha’s business goals, operational needs, and growth strategy.
• Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team, identifying where technology can drive measurable business outcomes.
• Advance reporting and analytics capabilities to support faster, more informed decision-making.

Enterprise Architecture & Infrastructure

• Oversee enterprise systems, cloud infrastructure, and integration efforts.
• Ensure system uptime, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Enable seamless integration of acquired businesses and lead IT due diligence, planning, and execution for M&A activity.

Cybersecurity, Compliance & Risk Management

• Lead Alpha’s cybersecurity strategy
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks while managing IT governance and risk mitigation protocols.
• Maintain business continuity and robust incident response processes.

Service & Support Operations

• Set and manage SLAs for helpdesk and IT support, ensuring seamless day-to-day system operations.
• Drive excellence in internal service delivery and ensure business continuity.

Digital Transformation & Innovation

• Lead modernization efforts across tools, platforms, and workflows.
• Leverage emerging technologies (AI, cloud, RPA, automation) to improve efficiency and reduce friction.
• Maximize ROI from cloud-based ERP and enterprise platforms through process automation and optimization.

Cross-Functional Leadership & People Development

• Build strong partnerships across business units and the executive team to drive adoption and alignment.
• Communicate complex technology concepts in clear, accessible ways.
• Grow and retain IT team with a service-oriented mindset.

Financial & Vendor Management

• Manage the IT budget, ensuring disciplined investments aligned with strategic goals.
• Negotiate and oversee relationships with technology vendors and service providers.

What you bring

• 10+ years of progressive IT leadership, with 5+ years in a senior/executive role.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, or related industries preferred.
• Proven track record of leading digital transformation and infrastructure modernization.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, compliance standards, and enterprise systems.
• Excellent communicator and change leader.
