šŸ‘·ā€ā™€ļø What You'll Do

As our Controller, you’ll be a key strategic leader in driving financial rigor and operational excellence across Alpha Inc. You’ll lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, push for faster and smoother close processes, and help lay the financial foundation for our continued growth—on a clear path toward CFO-level responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Alpha Inc.'s accounting operations, including financial reporting, payroll, AP/AR, collections, job costing, and GE tax compliance.
  • Manage and mentor a growing accounting team, ensuring performance, accountability, and engagement.
  • Oversee and accelerate monthly/annual close cycles, optimizing for accuracy and speed.
  • Drive the implementation and improvement of financial systems and internal controls with a tech-forward mindset.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure strong financial processes and project-level accountability.
  • Support regulatory filings, audits, and strategic financial initiatives alongside the CFO.

 

🧠 What You Bring

We’re looking for a seasoned financial leader who blends strong operational execution with leadership maturity. You’ve worked in complex environments, managed through scale, and are ready to anchor our financial operations in Maui with confidence and capability.

Must-Haves:

  • 15+ years of total accounting experience, including 5+ years in a public accounting setting
  • Proven track record managing accounting teams in a mid-to-large company environment
  • Demonstrated ability to engineer efficient close processes and drive process improvements
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and internal control implementation experience
  • Tech-savvy approach to accounting systems and financial automation

Bonus Points For:

  • CPA certification
  • Experience working in construction, engineering, or job-cost-centric industries
  • ERP implementation experience
