What You’ll Do
Compensation Strategy & Operations
- Build and manage job architecture, salary bands, and leveling frameworks across roles and departments.
- Own annual compensation cycles: merit reviews, bonuses, and market adjustments.
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, workforce planning, and incentive programs.
- Conduct ongoing market benchmarking and internal equity audits.
- Develop comp policies, manager training, and communication tools.
Benefits Management & Strategy
- Oversee the transition of all employee benefits programs to an in-house model, establishing efficient systems and workflows.
- Manage daily operations of employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and voluntary benefits.
- Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries, ensuring timely resolutions and providing personalized guidance.
- Lead our benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k), etc.) from strategy to administration.
- Oversee open enrollment, vendor management, renewals, and employee education.
- Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and Hawaii-specific mandates.
- Track utilization, cost trends, and employee feedback to inform improvements.
- Build strong relationships with benefits providers, negotiate contracts, and evaluate services to meet organizational and employee needs.

- Support leave of absence and accommodation processes in partnership with ER.
Systems, Scaling & Enablement
- Optimize workflows between HRIS, payroll, benefits systems, and finance.
- Help evaluate and implement scalable tools to streamline total rewards operations.
- Develop dashboards and KPIs to track program effectiveness.
About You
- 4–6+ years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards.
- Comfortable building from scratch — with a strong bias for action and systems thinking.
- Deep understanding of federal and state-level compliance (Hawaii experience a plus).
- Strong Excel/Sheets skills; HRIS and benchmarking tool proficiency.
- Excellent communicator with ability to influence across levels and functions.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication abilities and a commitment to confidentiality.
The compensation will vary based on experience ranging between $85,000 - $90,000 per annually.
