This advanced-level field position plays a critical role in delivering top-tier utility infrastructure projects across Hawaii. With your deep experience in underground utilities and pipe fitting, you’ll be hands-on in executing complex projects that serve our communities today and for generations to come.

What You Will Do

Execute Underground Utility Projects with Precision

  • Lay out and install piping systems based on blueprints and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble PVC, HDPE, and ductile iron pipe.
  • Align and install pipe systems for water, sewer, and storm drainage.
  • Conduct hydrostatic and air pressure tests to ensure system integrity.
  • Operate specialized tools including lasers, tampers, saws, and trench boxes.
  • Backfill, grade, and compact trenches following installation.

Support Field Excellence

  • Collaborate closely with equipment operators and site supervisors.
  • Document completed work and report field updates or discrepancies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to OSHA standards and Alpha safety protocols.

Lead and Mentor

  • Provide on-site guidance to junior laborers and promote a culture of safety and pride.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship.

 

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience in civil construction, specifically pipe fitting and underground utilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and project layouts.
  • Expertise in trench safety, system installation, and pressure testing.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in tight and outdoor environments.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with attention to safety and detail.
  • Valid Driver’s License required. OSHA 10 certification or similar preferred.
