The Opportunity

If you're the kind of leader who can command a jobsite, steer multiple superintendents with clarity and grit, and still Lead with Heart in the heat of the day—welcome to your next big move.

Alpha Inc. is searching for a Civil Superintendent II, an elite field leader who sets the operational tone across multiple civil projects statewide. This isn’t a “clip-board-and-hope-for-the-best” superintendent role. This is high-level orchestration, multi-team leadership, and relentless pursuit of execution excellence.

You’ll lead from the front—boots in the dirt, eyes on quality, mind on strategy—ensuring every jobsite, crew, superintendent, and project hits Alpha’s standards for safety, performance, financial discipline, and team culture.

If you thrive where complexity meets accountability, if people follow you because you inspire—not because you demand—and if you’re wired for continuous improvement, this is the role built for you.

About Alpha Inc.

Alpha Inc. is a Hawaiʻi-grown leader in civil construction, renewable energy, concrete services, drilling, and infrastructure solutions. We build projects that will stand for generations—with precision, sustainability, and pride. Learn more at www.alphahawaii.com.

We operate through three non-negotiable core values:

  • Lead with Heart — We elevate people, protect our crews, and treat everyone with respect.
  • Strength in Unity — One team, many talents; we win together.
  • Alpha Mentality — Grit. Accountability. Relentless execution. Excellence in everything.

As Civil Superintendent II, you won’t just uphold these values—you will amplify them across every crew and every jobsite.

What You Will Lead

As the Civil Superintendent II, you are the senior field commander—directing, guiding, and empowering multiple Superintendents while ensuring Alpha’s performance, culture, and quality show up in every phase of construction.

Drive Field Operations at Scale

  • Lead, coach, and oversee multiple Civil Superintendents, ensuring alignment with project priorities, safety standards, and organizational expectations.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and division leadership to coordinate multi-jobsite execution.
  • Translate project objectives into clear, actionable plans for superintendents and field teams.

Build High-Performing Teams

  • Recruit, develop, and mentor A-players—building a deep bench of high-performance foremen, crews, and rising leaders.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, hiring decisions, corrective guidance, and advancement planning for direct reports.
  • Promote unity, communication, and shared ownership across jobsite leadership.

Own Safety, Quality & Regulatory Compliance

  • Enforce Alpha’s safety culture and training standards across all assigned projects.
  • Ensure every crew understands and follows proper equipment use, protective gear requirements, and hazard protocols.
  • Uphold strict quality control measures—from drawings and specs to execution and inspections.

Manage Budgets, Schedules & Project Controls

  • Approve, negotiate, and manage change orders while maintaining budget targets.
  • Forecast manpower, materials, and equipment needs for multiple project sites.
  • Monitor schedule performance, resource allocation, and cost impacts; engage proactively to keep work on track.

Champion Communication & Problem-Solving

  • Serve as the primary field escalation point—resolving conflicts, addressing site issues, and driving quick, effective decisions.
  • Lead regular meetings with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to communicate progress and solutions.
  • Interpret and communicate plans, drawings, and specifications with precision.

Set the Standard

  • Ensure total adherence to Alpha policies, safety standards, and operational processes.
  • Model Alpha Mentality through decisive leadership, accountability, and unwavering execution.

What You Bring

We’re looking for an A-player superintendent—someone who has mastered field operations and is ready to lead at the next tier.

Experience

  • 8–12 years of progressive heavy civil construction experience, including multi-project or multi-site leadership (higher than standard Superintendent level).
  • Proven success supervising other Superintendents, General Foremen, or large multi-crew operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex civil scopes, tight timelines, and diverse teams.

Education & Technical Expertise

  • Associate degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite; familiarity with MAC, HCSS, HeavyJob, or Adobe systems preferred.
  • Expert-level ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and blueprints—and teach others to do the same.

Mindset & Leadership DNA

  • A builder of people and processes—calm under pressure, firm but fair, and committed to operational excellence.
  • Clear, confident communicator who elevates teams and eliminates ambiguity.
  • Values-driven leadership consistent with Lead with Heart, Strength in Unity, and Alpha Mentality.
  • Hunger to raise standards, challenge inefficiencies, and mentor the next generation of field leaders.

Why Alpha Inc.?

Because here, your work matters. Your leadership shapes the future of Hawaiʻi’s infrastructure. And your impact is measured not only in cubic yards, pipe installed, or miles paved—but in the legacy you leave on every crew you develop and every jobsite you touch.

You’ll join a company that:

  • Tackles high-impact projects statewide.
  • Invests deeply in safety, innovation, and people.
  • Lives its values every day—on site, in the office, and in the community.

If you’re ready to lead with heart, unite strong teams, and drive excellence across multiple projects, this is your stage.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
