Dean of Academic Interventions (25-26)
Alpha Public Schools is a network of four public charter schools committed to providing access to an outstanding education. Join us as we prepare students in TK-12th grade for success in college and career.
Who we are:
Alpha Public Schools is a public charter school network of four schools educating approximately 1,900 scholars in east San Jose. Guided by the belief that our students belong in college, we ensure safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environments to help our students thrive. What sets us apart is the very thing that makes us who we are– our community. Alpha was founded by a group of mothers on the eastside of San Jose who sought better educational opportunities for their students. We maintain a strong connection to our community and engage families in a collaborative approach to offer a holistic education to our students.
A successful Dean of Academic Interventions:
The Dean of Academic Interventions is a results-driven leader who believes that all students are capable of success. This role involves designing, implementing, and continuously refining intervention strategies to ensure academic growth for students in grades 3–8. This includes collaborating with the School Leadership Team to develop high-quality Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions tailored to school-specific contexts and student needs. Additionally, the Dean of Academic Interventions manages and coaches Literacy and Math Intervention Specialists, Academic Interventionists, and external tutoring partners to deliver effective interventions. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in California Common Core Standards, state assessment systems, and MTSS best practices, as well as proven experience managing teams and implementing high-impact Tier 1, 2, and 3 instruction across 3rd-8th grades

- Work in close alignment with the School Leadership Team to create a vision and aligned structures for MTSS supports and to strengthen school-wide understanding of MTSS best practices
- Monitor and report on effectiveness of Tier 1 instruction and Tier 2 and 3 interventions through ongoing analysis of student performance on assessments including but not limited to NWEA, curriculum-embedded assessments, Ignite Reading, and Littera
