Elevation | Sourcing Analyst

THE ROLE

Alpine Investors is seeking a Sourcing Analyst to join Alpine’s deal originations team. This dynamic position will focus across Alpine’s investments in software and services and will consist of (i) researching and identifying markets to invest in, (ii) compiling lists of prospective companies and their executives, (iii) reaching out directly to CEOs/Owners with a well-crafted message to gauge their interest in selling, and (iv) evaluating the fundamentals and growth opportunities of the potential investment. The target start date for this role is as soon as possible.

Sourcing is a critical function within Alpine and spearheads all other activities within the firm. Alpine has a world-class proprietary sourcing function, known as Elevation, which has allowed us to increase the volume of closed deals since 2021. Given the exposure in this role, Analysts will develop their own investing judgment and have opportunities to shape our investment criteria as they build expertise in markets.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Utilize databases and internet research to compile lists of prospective acquisition targets
  • Create and execute outbound strategies with the result of engaging business owners in a discussion to sell – cold calls, cold emails, LinkedIn outreach, etc.
  • Conduct introductory conversations with owners of prospective businesses and build rapport
  • Evaluate investment opportunities against our investment criteria
  • Present market research and new investment opportunities to internal stakeholders
  • Complete ad hoc projects focused on sourcing workflows or Alpine’s investing strategy
  • Participate in a variety of firm-wide activities, team bonding events, and training and development

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree – interest in business, sales, or finance
  • 0-2 years of experience in a relevant field
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Curious mindset, desire to learn, and ability to implement feedback
  • Self-starter that thrives in ambiguous environments
  • Relationship-driven
