Elevation | Deal Sourcing Analyst

Austin, Texas, United States

THE ROLE

Alpine Investors is seeking a Deal Sourcing Analyst to join Alpine’s deal originations team. This dynamic position will focus across Alpine’s investments in software and services and will consist of (i) researching and identifying markets to invest in, (ii) compiling lists of prospective companies and their executives, (iii) reaching out directly to CEOs/Owners with a well-crafted message to gauge their interest in selling, and (iv) evaluating the fundamentals and growth opportunities of the potential investment. Given the exposure in this role, Analysts will develop their own investing judgment and have opportunities to shape our investment criteria as they build expertise in markets.

The direct sourcing team within Alpine Operations Group (“Elevation”) provides a critical service to Alpine and its portfolio companies. The Elevation team creates more optionality and opportunities for investments across the Alpine portfolio and has allowed Alpine to increase the volume of closed deals since 2021. The target start date for this role is September 2025.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Utilize databases and internet research to compile lists of prospective acquisition targets
  • Create and execute outbound strategies that result in engaging business owners/CEOs in a discussion to sell—cold calls, cold emails, LinkedIn outreach, etc.
  • Conduct introductory conversations with owners/CEOs of prospective businesses and build rapport
  • Qualify deal opportunities you generate against our investment criteria
  • Present market research and new investment opportunities to internal stakeholders
  • Complete ad hoc projects focused on sourcing workflows or Alpine’s investing strategy.
  • Participate in a variety of firm-wide activities and team-bonding events.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree – interest in business, sales, entrepreneurship, or finance
  • 0-2 years of buyside or direct sourcing experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Curious mindset, desire to learn, and ability to implement feedback
  • Self-starter that thrives in ambiguous environments
  • Relationship-driven
