Product Director, Knowledge Graph

Altana is the world’s first Value Chain Management System, a collaborative, public-private network that enables customers to take command of their extended supplier and distribution networks from raw material origins to the sale of finished products. By applying artificial intelligence to the world’s largest body of supply chain data, Altana reveals these previously opaque global networks and powers workflows across them. Customers like Boston Scientific, L.L.Bean, Maersk, US Customs and Border Protection, and the UK Department of Business and Trade use Altana to build secure, resilient, efficient, and sustainable global value chains.

We have built a fundamental understanding of how the world’s economy works, and the implications for global resiliency, sustainability and opportunity are enormous. Backed by leading investors and used by the world’s most important organizations, Altana’s mission is to power a new era of globalization organized around trusted value chain networks.

This is a lofty mission, and our success depends on building a diverse, global team and creating an environment in which they can thrive. We operate in accordance with our values: we embrace reality as we work to change it; we focus on value creation, not capture; we foster diversity and embrace difference; and, we go on offense. • Partner with ML, data operations, engineering, and application product managers to design knowledge graph enrichments and data quality improvements through operations on customer data and user actions across the platform.
  • Set data quality, coverage, and reliability standards to meet customer needs across the platform.
  • Build and manage a team to oversee data ontologies, data partnership business development and relationship management, and data origination.
  • Work closely with our commercial and product management and marketing teams to build our graph product value propositions in support of go-to-market plans; build a deep understanding of our market trends, partner ecosystem, and competitive landscape.
  • Connect the dots between underlying technical platform and data infrastructure and models with customer facing experiences through collaboration with product design, engineering, internal subject matter experts, and external customers.
  • Become the go-to expert for the future of knowledge graphs in the context of global supply chains and physical commerce.

About You

  • 10+ years of technical product management and/or data product experience in a hedge fund, data business, or technology company, with a strong preference for experience  working closely with enterprise customers, complex user workflows, and intricate business requirements.
  • Fluency across macroeconomics and a range of business domains that cover the world’s physical economy.
  • Significant experience with tracking, navigating, and translating vision and mission through to customer needs and outcomes through to development priorities for a platform and data infrastructure and data model team and product.
  • Comfortable and excited to build, grow, and evolve new teams and capabilities within a fast moving start-up environment.
  • Must have experience deeply understanding customer segments, needs, and solution scenarios to inform development planning and prioritization with software engineering and ML teams.

  • High attention to detail and laser focused on accuracy, freshness, completeness and richness of data feeding application products that ultimately meet customer needs.
  • Entrepreneurial sense of ownership for the success of the technology infrastructure and data models powering the value management chain system, with full ownership and accountability of internal and customer outcomes depending on the platform, data, and models.
  • A data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly and concisely communicate complex topics to diverse stakeholders (product, design, engineers, customers, commercial teams etc.) in written and verbal form.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
