The Opportunity at Altana
As Vice President of Brand Marketing, you will serve as the architect and steward of Altana’s brand message, corporate narratives, and visual identity. You will shape how the world understands our company, our category, and our vision of a globalization rebuilt around fair, secure, sustainable, and resilient global networks. This role combines brand strategy, brand design, narrative development, thought leadership, content marketing, experiential and digital design, and external communications to drive awareness, engagement, and category leadership across Altana’s public and private sector audiences.
You’ll report to the CEO, lead Altana’s content marketing, design, and communications teams and functions, and work closely with cross-functional partners across product marketing, demand generation, sales, and government affairs to ensure brand clarity and cohesion at every touchpoint.
You Will
- Own and evolve Altana’s brand strategy, positioning, and visual identity to powerfully articulate our mission, value proposition, and category leadership.
- Lead the content marketing, communications, and brand design teams and functions, overseeing all brand creative, narrative, and storytelling assets across channels and formats.
- Develop and execute integrated brand campaigns that build awareness, reinforce category leadership, and drive resonance with key audiences.
- Partner with the cofounders and executive team on corporate narrative development, including thought leadership, speeches, and executive communications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with community and event leads to shape the brand expression of these initiatives — ensuring consistency, quality, and emotional impact in field marketing and experiential design.
- Work closely with product marketing and GTM to translate complex ideas into compelling brand narratives across use cases, personas, and policy themes.
- Oversee Altana’s brand presence across digital channels, including our website, social media, and owned content platforms — growing reach and influence.
- Support strategic media and ecosystem relationship-building, in partnership with communications and growth teams.
- Establish and track brand KPIs, including awareness, perception, engagement, and content performance — using insights to optimize strategy and execution.
You Have
- A brand and marketing leader with 10+ years of experience building high-impact brands in complex, data-driven, or mission-driven industries.
- Proven ability to define and scale brand identity, content strategy, and design systems in high-growth or category-creation environments.
- Deep understanding – if not fluency – in economics, geopolitics, and international relations topics in order to reach audiences in the public sector, while translating dense topics for broad private sector audiences.
- Experience managing PR and communications for the business, including external agency vendors and internal staff.
- Deep expertise in content marketing, storytelling, and creative direction across formats — from thought leadership and editorial to digital and visual assets.
- A compelling communicator and collaborator, able to align senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional initiatives forward.
- Strategic and hands-on — able to set vision and directly shape execution when needed.
- Passionate about building an enduring brand that shapes public dialogue and advances a meaningful mission.
This role is based in Brooklyn, NY, USA with hybrid work flexibility and candidates must be within commuting distance from our Williamsburg office.
US Salary Range and Benefits
The salary range, to the extent specified for this role, is a good faith statement of the minimum and maximum levels of the annual based salary for the position. The base salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on a wide range of compensation factors, including, but not limited to, work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Altana's total compensation package. Altana also offers either a discretionary bonus or a variable compensation plan depending on the role. Additionally, Altana offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including:
