As the Wire Harness Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Develop wiring and harness systems according to project specifications using CAD tools.
- Implement designated technical solutions and make minor adjustments as necessary.
- Plan, develop, and deliver engineering solutions for low voltage cable installation in Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) truck projects.
- Design and release sheet metal brackets and cable assemblies, creating 3D models and 2D drawings using PTC CREO to ensure proper fit, form, and function.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including wiring architecture, systems, chassis, suspension, steering, and cooling, to coordinate assembly sequences and accessibility.
- Engage with stakeholders such as manufacturing and aftermarket teams to reach consensus on project requirements.
- Support DFMEA analysis to identify and mitigate potential circuit and installation issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with lead times, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness for brackets, cables, and clipping materials.
- Participate in design reviews utilizing Virtual Reality Lab and assist with in-house prototype builds.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in mechanical design engineering, particularly in the automotive or BEV sector.
- Proficiency in CAD software, specifically PTC CREO, with a focus on sheet metal and cabling tools.
- Strong understanding of wiring harness design and low voltage systems.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with DFMEA processes and analysis.
- Ability to manage supplier relationships and ensure quality and cost control.
- Familiarity with prototype development and virtual design review processes.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
