Manager – Closures
We are currently seeking a Manager, Closures. This position requires an experienced professional with responsibility for managing the design and development of the closures systems of a world-class vehicle. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
Role:
- Lead, mentor, and build a world-class closures engineering team.
- Create industry-leading closures systems in terms of cost, weight, and functionality.
- Lead the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of all closures in the Lucid portfolio including side doors, hood, decklid, charge port, hardware, and mechanisms.
- Work interactively within a cross functional marketing, design, and vehicle engineering team, placing priority upon the greater benefit of the vehicle above any one individual system.
- Collaborate with closures suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on time delivery of Lucid closures systems.
- Employ and develop efficient tools and an innovative approach to support the development.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in a technical closures engineering role.
- 3+ years of Management experience desired.
- Demonstrated experience as a detail-oriented manager with technical depth and breadth.
- Full program cycle experience from concept to production launch in automotive closures.
- Knowledge and understanding of automotive closures industry benchmark, trends, and supplier competencies.
- Ability to create/improve/establish technical product specifications and timelines to achieve an accelerated development cycle towards SOP.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to achieve success in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Profound knowledge of vehicle closures systems and demonstrable track record of technical excellence and program execution.
- Vehicle and product launch experience
- Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills.
Preferred:
- A solid knowledge of structural performance, durability, NVH, safety standards
- A strong desire to create the very best product, working as an integral part of a very capable team.
- A practical hands-on approach to complement engineering fundamentals and management skills
- Experienced in using CAD to review the team’s work and run sections for reviews.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from ABET accredited institution required. Master’s Degree or similarly advanced technical degree in related field preferred.
Salary Range: $120,000-165,000
