As the Manufacturing Tooling & Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Design and procure tools for cab and vehicle assembly, including fastening tools, lifting systems (crane systems and below-the-hook fixtures), material supply carts, fixtures, jigs, assembly aids, and hand tools. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs and ensure effective teamwork.
- Benchmark and adapt equipment used at other facilities to improve operations at the local site.
- Implement tooling and equipment with a focus on zero disturbance in operations, ensuring safety, quality, and minimal downtime. Prioritize manufacturing safety, ergonomics, and efficiency.
- Design, redesign, or purchase new tools and equipment for assembly, ensuring adherence to maintenance standards and best practices to maximize equipment reliability and availability.
- Contribute to major industrial projects by supporting the investigation, planning, design, execution, and startup phases of tooling solutions. Work closely with the purchasing team to source equipment and provide guidance to project management on budget and timeline for new product introduction and industrial projects.
- React promptly to production issues, assess the situation, and develop a feasible action plan to resolve the issue successfully.
- Engage in global engineering networks to share knowledge and develop optimal processes and tool designs across sites. Collaborate with production engineering teams to implement standards and best practices aligned with the company’s operational model.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred), or an Associate’s degree with equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Tooling and Equipment Engineering and design.
- Proficient in Catia, Creo, and AutoCAD, with working knowledge of 2D/3D engineering drawings.
- Experience with PDM systems such as ENOVIA, Windchill, or similar platforms.
- Experience in cost estimation and business case development.
- Knowledge of ergonomic standards and their practical application.
- Familiarity with OSHA guidelines, ISO, and ANSI standards.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
