We are seeking a highly skilled Development and Validation Engineer with expertise in powertrain and transmission systems, particularly in torque converters and automatic transmissions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and executing system-level Design Verification Plan (DVP) activities, ensuring all validation tasks are completed within the required timeframes. This role requires strong testing experience, debugging skills, and knowledge of DRBTR, DRBFM, and DVP&R methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage & Plan Transmission system-level testing & component level DVP documentation using standard templates. Ensure guidance from CoE and approval from Managers. Maintain complete DVP documentation throughout the validation process.
- Oversee execution of all transmission system/component DVP testing, if required.
- Coordinate and execute bench testing at the CTC transmission lab to meet DVP requirements.
- Support debugging and triage of ongoing test issues to ensure smooth execution.
- Conduct mid-test and end-of-test inspections with Product Release team members. Use DRBTR inspection process and assessment criteria to determine Pass/Fail results.
- Provide incremental reviews including timelines and presentations and ongoing test status reports.
- Immediately notify Engineering of any test failures and assist in root cause analysis using GIMS.
- Deliver comprehensive End-of-Test reports with all necessary documentation based on provided templates.
- Work closely with teams to coordinate the availability of vehicles and other test elements for in-vehicle validation activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in powertrain and transmission development & validation.
- Strong knowledge of torque converters, automatic transmissions, and vehicle testing methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with bench testing, DVP&R, DRBTR, and DRBFM.
- Familiarity with validation processes is a plus.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and collaborate with engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
