Description:
This position is for a Repair Process Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer supporting company's Operations. The role will be responsible for day-to-day engineering support for a production cell at an FAA Repair Station. The focus is on translating technical requirements into process plans for execution by production mechanics and resolving any technical issues with the process and hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and interpreting engine manuals and other technical data to develop the methods and processes necessary for the repair and overhaul of complex aircraft engine components.
- Writing of process plans / work instructions for execution by production mechanics
- Planning sequences of operations, estimating time required, and creating schedules
- Evaluating out of tolerance or unknown conditions on aircraft engine components
- Investigates, establishes, and implements requirements for equipment, tooling, and material, including make or buy decisions and facility layout as required for new or revised products.
- Investigates and troubleshoots process issues.
- Provides technical support to operations.
- Consult with outside engineering entities when required to resolve hardware or process issues
- Coordinates multiple manufacturing and automation projects
- Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers performing repair work
- Analyze process data in support of continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications:
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior experience
- Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft O365 suite.
- Able to interpret manufacturing drawings and 3D models / Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (6s, etc.).
- Experience translating technical requirements (drawings / prints, manuals) to operator level work instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) experience
- Experience repairing composite materials
- Experience in automation and robotic applications preferred.
- Experience with FAA Repair Stations
- Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification
- Process management / statistical process control / data analysis / analysis of variance / design of experiment / process risk analysis / PPAP / FMEA, control plans, root cause analysis experience.
- CAD Software Experience (NX, AutoCAD)
- Solumina G8 Experience
