
Senior Quality Engineer

We are seeking a professional with 5+ years of relevant experience to join our team as a Senior Quality Engineer. They will support the Quality & Customer Satisfaction team to ensure product quality performance by investigating and prioritizing market product quality issues. They will work to secure the voice of the customer in the problem-solving processes through knowledge management. This will demand a high level of product knowledge, problem solving, and ability to work with global colleagues across engineering, production, purchasing & field service network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chairperson for the Field Quality Meeting for assigned markets.
- Leadership of Quality Action Group (QAG) as appointed.
- Search, detect and quantify actively & preventively customer quality issues at an early stage via enhanced analytics.
- Prioritizing quality actions inside Volvo Group to achieve committed quality targets for assigned products.
- Actively search for rapid containment actions & recommend appropriate quality solving tool for an identified field issue.
- Decide, among all the issues experienced by the customer, what are the emerging issues that must be pre-investigated.
- Initiate, coordinate, and prioritize quality actions inside design Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.
- Clear communication and reporting on product quality or on customer satisfaction within the company.
- Check effectiveness of implemented Quality solving solutions
- Request external campaign based on technical description and present at the External Campaign Committee.
- Identify potential safety related issue upon field report / claim received and communicate to Safety Investigator.
- Leadership of actions/tasks within the PQL network to achieve the Application quality goals.
- Challenge other Product Quality Leaders to prioritize major issues not addressed.
Qualifications of a successful candidate include:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or business-related field
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of automotive industry experience, preferably in a service or maintenance related role.
- Excellent communications skills, verbally & written.
- Cross-functional team leadership or project management experience
- Experience in dealership operations or in a position with direct dealer interface a plus
- Judgement abilities for prioritizing issues adding value for both customer and brand.
- Ability to quickly gain credibility and establish positive relationships / networking.
- Quality solving processes with experience in predictive analytics and data mining.
- Strong customer focus (internal and external)
- Fluent in English language
- Global experience is an advantage.
Salary Range: $65,000-70,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
