
Material Control Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receiving / Quality Control
- Perform detailed visual inspections of incoming materials/products
- Understanding of drawing standards, including GD&T, and ability to interpret features, tolerances, and annotations.
- Document any defects or quality issues / check for shipping damage
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding quality concerns
- Process returns authorizations when needed
- Maintain inspection records and reports
- Ensure proper documentation is included and verify quantities against purchase orders
Inventory Management
- Verify order accuracy before shipping
- Package items according to specifications
- Select appropriate shipping methods and carriers
- Monitor stock levels and movement (if need for maintaining stock might be more a facility thing)
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures
- Maintain clean and organized Inventory space
Shipping Management
- Generate shipping labels and documentation
- Process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently
- Comply with shipping regulations
- Maintain shipping records
- Track shipping costs and performance metrics
- Generate regular inventory reports
- Document standard operating procedures and provide training material to help guide staff through requests
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Experience in shipping/logistics processes
- Proven experience in quality control or inspection roles, focusing on verifying and validating 2D drawings against physical parts and assemblies.
- Understanding of drawing standards, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and ability to interpret complex part features, tolerances, and annotations.
- Attention to detail
- Organization and time management
- Knowledge of inventory management systems
- Problem-solving abilities
- Physical ability to lift and move materials ~ 50 pounds
- Fork lift certification (Or willing to get it)
Salary Range: $95,000-115,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
