Description:
The Controls Specialist will be responsible for researching, developing and implementing VPE CARE standards and specifications. The Controls Specialist will lead & support the development of these specifications. Additionally, the specialist will be required to present and educate others regarding technical innovations and specification roll-out.
The Controls Specialist will also support production and launch events as a technical expert in all applicable controls applications. Additionally, the scope of this work will span the core functions of VPE CARE in Paint. They will be the liaison between VPE CARE, Integrators, ICT and Plant management team members.

- AGV Routing/Commissioning
- Rockwell, Emerson, Lenze Drives
- SEW & Nord Motors
- DNET, ENET Networks
- Robot Interface knowledge
- Basic programming Fanuc, Nachi, ABB
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years' experience in Controls and Automation
- Minimum 5+ years of Plant experience with an emphasis on Controls
- Project management experience
- Understanding of PLC Programing: Rockwell Logix, RsLogix, Studio 5000
- Knowledge of HMI Development: Factory Talk View, or other similar programs
- Problem solving skills specific to Controls Hardware/Software, Information Technology, network management and system designs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field
- 5+ years of Experience with Vehicle Process Engineering and Launch experience with an emphasis on Controls Engineering, IT Engineering, PLC programming and network management
- Experience leading a team of technicians and engineers
- Strong and proficient understanding of Controls electrical design CAD software (ePlan /AutoCAD)
- Experience developing bid packages for new equipment
- Ability to coordinate the installation of Controls related equipment
- Innovative thinker with excellent organizational and project management skills
- Demonstrated team leadership and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Access, Outlook and SQL)
- Self-directed and motivated to implement change within the direction and scope of Senior Management
