About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to support interiors and seating systems at a leading electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, AZ. This role is critical to ensuring supplier components meet quality, performance, and reliability standards while supporting production on second shift. The SQE will work closely with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to drive quality excellence across the supply base.
Key Responsibilities
- Own supplier quality performance for interior and seating components across assigned suppliers
- Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and capability reviews to ensure compliance with quality requirements and industry standards
- Lead supplier issue resolution using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions
- Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Operations to address quality concerns and support production needs
- Support new product introduction activities including APQP, PPAP, and launch readiness reviews
- Monitor and report supplier quality metrics, trends, and scorecards; drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Define inspection plans, control plans, and quality documentation requirements
- Ensure proper containment, corrective action implementation, and validation of effectiveness
- Maintain accurate quality records, non-conformance documentation, and supplier communications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline
- 3+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering or a related quality role
- Experience supporting automotive interiors, trim, seating systems, or similar assemblies
- Working knowledge of automotive quality tools and processes including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work onsite on second shift (6:00 PM – 2:30 AM) in Casa Grande, AZ
Preferred
- Automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier experience
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO quality standards
- Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Salary Range: $75,000-$95,000/K
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
