Summary: 

  • The Project Leader2(PL2) has technical responsibility of IQP 3 to 5 projects with an estimated engineering count of xxx-xxx FTEs.
  • The responsibilities of a PL2 are to manage the technical project activities in accordance to agreed deliverable, quality and cost as well as ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
  • Additional responsible are to qualify the internal staffing of projects, develop and adhere to project timeline and report the operational situation during internal reviews.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Other duties or tasks may be assigned as required.
  • The essential duties and responsibilities are as followed:

Customer/Bid & Offer

  • Review technical requirements set by customer
  • Participate in quotation activities
  • Support client meetings and on/off -site visits
  • Monitors delivery progress with the customer
  • Support negotiation with the customer

Project Management

  • Monitor delivery progress on projects
  • Manage technical scope of the projects
  • Responsible of the quality of the deliverables
  • Prepare customer Steering Committee meetings
  • Evaluate activities/roles that should be near-/offshore, if any
  • Support definition of roles and responsibilities in the project organization​
  • Monitor the technical skills of the team members
  • Support validation of the project organization and the team members
  • Reports operational situation during monthly financial review​s
  • Report if technical/project training is needed in projects

Internal

  • Forecast of project Margins
  • Inform Project Coordinator of monthly invoice amount
  • Reports operational situation during monthly review

  • An individual will be responsible for supervising and managing a team.
  • An individual is expected to provide guidance, assign tasks, set goals, and evaluate the performance of their team members.

  • An individual will operate with a high level of authority and is expected to make strategic decisions independently.
  • An individual will work closely with executive leadership to align department's goals with the overall organizational strategy and report on department's performance.
  • May provide guidance and mentorship and support their team members in acquiring new skills and knowledge.             

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to meet each requirement satisfactorily.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a technical college or university in Business, Management, or Engineering or another technical/scientific discipline and combined minimum 7 years of engineering and project management experience (minimum 5 years of engineering/product development experience, minimum 2 years of project lead/management experience in a technical field).
  • An advanced degree may be substituted for experience.
  • Must possess hands-on experience with project management and project management leadership.

  • Ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the following software programs:
  • Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Outlook).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects successfully to customers requirements (scope, cost, schedule, margin, delivery of contractual deliverables)
