Summary:
- The main responsibilities of the Product Resident Engineer role is to provide technical assistance in front of the customer plant or design center referring Client products, including quality issues, for more details refer to Internal Engineering procedures.
Key Activities:
- Coordinates/support and/or participates with engineering and customer’s suppliers in the development of new product or need.
- Follow up key project milestones and accomplishment with EPL/ Eng team members (HW, Mech, SW…)
- Identifies and transmits the customer requirements to Engineering, Quality and Sales in order to prepare the design and/or production.
- Technical liason for design changes with customer and product engineering team
- PCR: Product Change Request (driven by the customer)
- PCN: Product Change Notification (driven by the suppliers)
- CTO: Cost optimization activities
- Perform or support tests at customer locations related with Client modules release.
- Support line trials to ensure smooth transition from development to production
- Support launch and built activities at customer plant.
- When necessary, identifies and analyses assembly issues in the customers manufacturing plants, supporting technical solutions.
- Support new business opportunities ( RFQ, RFI…).
Skills:
- Ability to understand the customer technical requirements and its use-cases from an end user perspective
- Good knowledge of the product and its functions
- Previous Vehicle level integration and System testing experience
- Methodical in approach
- Driving License
- Be an effective communicator, demonstrating highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Team Player, able to develop rapport with key contacts at all levels of the customer organization.
- Self motivated (self starter)
- Demonstrate problem solving ability
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to travel
- High level of English and other languages depending of the customer.
- Preferably an ability to speak Spanish
- Knowledge of the procedures & techniques established in the organization and project and customer procedures
