Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manufacturing Engineer to support production excellence through process validation, cycle time analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment, conducting time studies, identifying process inefficiencies, and implementing data-driven improvements. This individual will work closely with production, quality, logistics, and planning teams to ensure manufacturing processes are efficient, standardized, and aligned with operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular shop floor observations to evaluate production execution and verify compliance with established manufacturing processes and standards.
- Perform cycle time studies and validate operational cycle times against planned production standards.
- Analyze gaps between planned and actual cycle times, identifying root causes of deviations and inefficiencies.
- Utilize Pareto analysis and other analytical tools to prioritize process improvement opportunities and quantify performance gaps.
- Develop and recommend corrective action plans to address cycle time losses and improve overall manufacturing performance.
- Identify non-value-added activities and opportunities to reduce waste, improve productivity, and increase throughput.
- Assess production execution against planned schedules and support corrective actions when performance gaps are identified.
- Maintain and update manufacturing routing data, cycle times, and operational information within SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Support industrial performance assessments through accurate data analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, logistics, and planning to drive operational improvements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and process standardization.
- Foster strong working relationships and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or shop floor environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and industrial engineering principles.
- Experience conducting cycle time analyses, time studies, and root cause investigations.
- Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems used in manufacturing operations.
- Ability to perform data analysis and translate findings into actionable process improvement recommendations.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, waste reduction techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and methodologies is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
Compensation: $85,000 per year plus comprehensive benefits package.
