Overview
Altera Hosting Operations team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to help with proactive audit of infrastructure, network and databases.
This individual will work closely with the Business Unit leaders, Hosting leadership team, Altera IT, partners and vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out prescribed programs of computer system performance management and capacity planning for systems to ensure the necessary system capacity and performance is available as required.
Monitors performance via measurement and capacity planning of production software solutions, recommending changes to products and “standardized” system configurations.
Researches and identifies third-party tools / software that improve the development process.
Scripts database automation and reporting with PowerShell or assigned tool.
This is a remote role in the US.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement projects and implementation of best practices for monitoring, automated problem management solutions and audits (infrastructure & network).
- Help Improve tooling and process capabilities including:
- Increased automation
- Better functionality
- Better integration with other tools
- Increased business analytics
- Strong problem management and development management skills.
- Ability to measure, understand, and identify new success criteria in proactive services capabilities.
- Work with IT, BU, and Clients during design and implementation to shape the technical feature set.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks. Demonstrated knowledge of project management concepts and techniques required.

- Coach, and mentor junior team members and provide leadership to the
- Document issues with resolutions and share with team members to improve team
- Provide data to generate team performance
- Knowledge transfer with other team members to improve overall team education
- Take complete ownership for the assigned task and timely inform the progress of the project / task to all

Qualifications
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, management information systems or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Post-graduation qualifications or technical certifications
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years IT experience, 3 years of IT Audit, or related experience in similar fields (Computer Science, Informatics, IT and Compliance, etc.)
- Experience with CMDB and ServiceNow ITOM.
- Knowledge of Database, Application, Network & Infrastructure.
- Hosting or experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools/solutions like: SentryOne/AppDynamics/Nagios/SQL Monitor or other SQL Performance management tools.
- Knowledge of active directory plus basic networking knowledge.
- Strong verbal and written communications skill set.
- Experience in Windows servers infrastructure and .Net based Application Support.
- IIS, worker process thread, Web config, Certificate binding
- Event Logs
- Server Performance metrics - CPU, Memory, Queue length, MSMQ, I/O, Page writes
- Perfmon
- Windows cluster
- COM+
- Log Parser
- Experience with ITSM tools such as Service desk/ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework (V3.0 foundation certificate).
- Knowledge/Experience on office applications, Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access.
Travel Requirements:
- Requires occasional travel for business (Up to 10%)
Working Arrangements:
- Remote role. Candidates may live anywhere in the continental U.S. or Canada.
- May require after-hours, on-call support and/or holidays.
- On-call and after hours work during peak times including end of month/quarter/year; during this time PTO is limited to meet business needs.
- Work is performed in a remote office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.

Salary Range
$126,448 - $153,002 USD
