Position Summary
The AR Senior Manager – Insurance Follow-Up plays a critical leadership role in strengthening the financial health of our clients and the organization by driving revenue performance, reducing A/R, and ensuring teams are equipped to deliver consistent, high-quality results. This role is designed for a driven leader who can inspire, support, and develop Account Managers, build accountability across teams, and turn data, process, and people leadership into meaningful operational impact. Through strategic oversight, coaching, and partnership with client-facing stakeholders, the AR Senior Manager helps create a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement while ensuring clients receive the partnership, visibility, and outcomes they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive revenue performance across a portfolio of client accounts managed by AR Account Managers, ensuring A/R reduction, denial resolution, and overall revenue goals.
- Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to AR Account Managers, ensuring consistency, effectiveness, and accountability in team management, as well as management of client accounts.
- Review AR Account Manager reporting related to revenue targets and client performance.
- Establish clear expectations for AR Account Managers regarding account management, team performance, reporting accuracy, client communication, and operational execution.
- Monitor the effectiveness of Account Manager workflows, team strategies, and escalation processes to ensure alignment with organizational revenue goals and client expectations.
- Identify trends, risks, and performance gaps across assigned accounts and partner with AR Account Managers in implementing corrective action plans.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex client concerns, operational challenges, payer-related issues, and revenue-impacting risks.
- Partner with executive leadership to provide high-level visibility into account performance, revenue trends, onboarding progress, operational risks, and recommended solutions.
- Collaborate on onboarding setup of new clients assigned to AR Account Managers, ensuring onboarding timelines, workflows, staffing plans, system access, reporting structures, and operational readiness are completed successfully.
- Track, report, and improve the speed, quality, and success of new client onboarding, ensuring smooth transitions and strong early-stage performance.
- Partner with Client Success Managers and AR Account Managers on client satisfaction, and long-term retention.
- Ensure consistent communication and collaboration between AR Account Managers and other client-facing stakeholders.
- Lead regular performance review meetings with AR Account Managers to assess account status, revenue progress, staffing needs, workflow issues, and client risks.
- Support the hiring, training, coaching, and development of AR Account Managers, ensuring the retention of strong talent.
- Promote leadership development among AR Account Managers, ensuring they are equipped to effectively manage their teams, clients, and revenue responsibilities.
- Foster a high-performance leadership culture driven by accountability, consistency, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and revenue growth.

Experience & Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in revenue cycle management, including physician collections, insurance follow-up, A/R management, denial management, and client account oversight.
- Minimum of 4+ years in a leadership or management role, with experience managing managers or multiple teams preferred.
- Strong understanding of billing, coding, CPT, ICD-10, payer guidelines, denial workflows, and healthcare reimbursement processes.
- Proven track record of driving revenue performance, reducing A/R, improving collections, and achieving operational goals.
- Experience overseeing multiple client accounts and managing account-level financial performance.
- Experience reviewing, analyzing, and presenting performance data, including revenue metrics, A/R aging, cash collections, denial trends, and productivity results.
- Strong ability to coach, mentor, and hold managers accountable to performance expectations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and experience with reporting tools and performance dashboards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, client needs, operational issues, and leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range
$110,000 - $140,000 USD
