Industry Account Manager
⚡️ Why Altium?
Altium is transforming the way electronics are designed and built. From startups to world’s technology giants, our digital platforms give more power to PCB designers, supply chain, and manufacturing, letting them collaborate as never before.
- Constant innovation has created a transformative technology, unique in its space
- More than 30,000 companies and 100,000 electronics engineers worldwide use Altium
- We are growing, debt-free, and financially strong, with the resources to become #1 in the EDA industry
About the Role
As an Industry Account Manager, you will drive Altium’s enterprise solution adoption within strategic verticals (automotive, white goods), acting as a domain expert to bridge PCB design solutions with clients’ product lifecycle needs. Your role will orchestrate upstream-downstream ecosystems (OEMs, ODMs, component suppliers) to embed Altium 365 SaaS solutions into industry workflows, paving the way for future hardware-software synergies post-Renesas acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
- Industry-Specific Solution Selling
- Develop vertical playbooks for automotive (e.g., EV powertrain PCB design) and white goods (e.g., IoT control boards), aligning Altium 365’s Active Manufacturing and DFM tools with industry pain points (e.g., design-for-cost in automotive, rapid prototyping in appliances).
- Partner with Renesas/Xilinx FAEs to co-design reference solutions (e.g., combining Altium Designer with Renesas MCUs for automotive ECUs).
- Ecosystem Penetration
- Map decision hierarchies across OEM R&D, ODMs, and EMS providers, leveraging Altium’s PLM integration (post-Perception acquisition) to streamline design-to-production workflows.
- Launch joint business planning with tier-1 suppliers (e.g., Bosch, Midea) to standardize Altium tools in their supplier qualification criteria.
- GTM Execution
- Lead pilot projects demonstrating ROI: e.g., 30% faster PCB turnaround via Altium 365’s real-time DFM checks for automotive Tier-2s.
- Design industry-tailored campaigns: Technical workshops on HDI design for automotive; webinars on IoT security compliance for smart appliances.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Feed industry trends (e.g., automotive zonal architectures) to product teams, prioritizing feature requests (e.g., enhanced thermal simulation for white goods).
- Enable sales teams with competitive battle cards (vs. Cadence/Mentor) highlighting Altium’s SaaS-hardware integration (e.g., Renesas chipset compatibility).
Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years in EDA/industrial tech sales, with deep expertise in automotive (e.g., working with BYD, Geely) or white goods (e.g., Haier, Gree).
- Skills:
- Technical: Understands PCB design workflows (e.g., Altium Designer’s rigid-flex capabilities for automotive dashboards).
- Commercial: Negotiated ELA agreements with ODMs; fluent in value-based selling frameworks (e.g., MEDDIC).
- Traits: “Consultant” mindset with ecosystem-building skills; bilingual in English and Mandarin.
