About the role:
The Altium Education Sales Representative will be responsible for driving Altium’s education sales efforts across universities and educational partners in Japan. This role is crucial in expanding the adoption and revenue of Altium’s Education programs, establishing and nurturing relationships with university partners, and leading the charge on sales and renewal programs. The representative will play a pivotal role in the Platform Adoption and Ecosystem Enablement team, working collaboratively with internal teams to create strategies for driving growth, maximizing engagement, and ensuring customer satisfaction within the education sector.

A day in the life of our Altium Education Sales Representative:
- University Sales Development:
- Drive sales for Altium’s Education programs by developing strong relationships with university decision-makers, faculty, and education-focused partners.
- Promote Altium’s platform to universities and educational institutions, highlighting its benefits and capabilities in designing and engineering education.
- Lead efforts to onboard new universities, educational institutions, and partners to Altium’s Education programs.
- Revenue and Renewal Programs:
- Develop and implement strategies to meet revenue targets, focusing on both new sales and renewals within the education sector.
- Manage renewals and contract negotiations, ensuring long-term relationships with university partners and continued adoption of Altium’s educational solutions.
- Collaborate with the customer success and operations teams to ensure smooth contract renewals and customer satisfaction.
- Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Work closely with the Platform Adoption and Ecosystem Enablement team to design and execute sales strategies aimed at increasing platform adoption across universities and educational partners.
- Conduct market research and identify growth opportunities within the education space.
- Organize and conduct product demonstrations, webinars, and training for university stakeholders to support the sales process.
- Collaboration and Cross-functional Support:
- Work collaboratively with product, marketing, and technical teams to align education sales strategies with broader platform goals.
- Act as a liaison between university partners and the internal Altium teams to address challenges and provide solutions that support their educational initiatives.
- Provide feedback on customer needs, trends, and pain points to influence product and feature development for the education sector.
- Reporting and Metrics:
- Track sales activities, pipeline development, and revenue generation to meet quarterly and annual targets.
- Regularly report on sales progress, market insights, and performance to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline data in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
Who We’re Looking For:
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in B2B sales, with a focus on education or technology sales preferred.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies within the university or education partner sector.
- Experience with subscription-based sales, renewals, and contract negotiations is a plus.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of the higher education sector, including university structures, decision-making processes, and the adoption of technology in academic settings.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in Salesforce or other CRM platforms; experience with SalesForce is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to build strong relationships with university stakeholders and education partners.
- Ability to influence and negotiate with senior-level decision-makers in educational institutions.
- Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with Altium’s platform and software solutions is an advantage.
- A passion for education and technology, with a keen interest in driving digital transformation in academic environments.
- Additional language skills (German, French, Italian, Japanese) are a plus.
