What You Will Contribute To Altos

An exciting opportunity is available for a scientific researcher to join Altos Labs at the Bay Area Institute of Science. Based on experience and level of expertise, the job title for Research Research Associate II to Senior Research Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Performing rodent blood collections, necropsies, and assisting with or independently performing surgeries
  • Administering test agents to rodents via multiple routes (tail IV, IP, PO)
  • Conducting rodent behavioral experiments
  • Performing lab research techniques including DNA/RNA/protein extraction, qPCR, western blot, and immunofluorescence staining
  • Performing multi-color flow cytometry-based analysis and cell sorting
  • Developing and optimizing assays to support daily research activities
  • Establishing written SOPs
  • Presenting research updates with team members
  • Interfacing on a regular basis with lead scientific staff to present, organize, coordinate, and execute experimental work

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree with relevant experience in biomedical research, regenerative medicine, neuroscience, or related disciplines
  • 2+ year of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in rodent handlings
  • Committed to maintaining high standards for animal welfare
  • Experience in lab research techniques including immunohistochemistry techniques and/or flow cytometry
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, with proven ability to work with diverse and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to multitask and work across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in rodent neurodegenerative models
  • Experience in rodent behavioral techniques

The salary range for Redwood City, CA:

  • Senior Research Associate: $115,600 - $156,400

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
