What You Will Contribute To Altos
As a Molecular Pathology Senior Manager at Altos Labs, you will be at the forefront of innovative research in understanding the molecular mechanisms of diseases with a focus on aging and rejuvenation. Your role will involve developing and applying molecular and cellular techniques to support delivery of the Altos Labs pipeline
Key Responsibilities:
- Create molecular pathology workflows to ensure timely delivery of high-quality IND-enabling data packages while assuring compliance with all relevant regulatory reporting and data integrity requirements
- Manage cross-functional study teams and workflows that integrate histology, microscopy, pathology, and computational sciences to ensure seamless generation of high-quality molecular pathology data and study reports
- Lead growth and strategic implementation molecular platforms (spatial digital pathology, high-multiplexing staining, and microscopic image analysis) to enable delivery of the Altos Labs portfolio
- Oversees all molecular pathology work for IoM, including selecting and managing CROs and CLIA certified labs for assay development.
- Design and conduct experiments related to molecular pathology using techniques such as immunohistochemistry (single and multiplex), in situ hybridization, laser capture microdissection, PCR, RT-qPCR, Western blotting, spatial transcriptomics, and next-generation sequencing
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate molecular findings with preclinical and translational safety data
- Develop and validate new molecular diagnostic tests and biomarkers for various diseases and deliver therapeutic target expression profiling data packages
- Analyze and interpret data from molecular and cellular experiments
- Stay updated with the latest scientific advancements in molecular pathology and related fields
- Mentor and supervise junior scientists and technicians
- Build molecular pathology team as needed to match portfolio and workload needs
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Proven 8+ years of experience in molecular biology techniques and data analysis.
- 5+ years of experience managing molecular pathology laboratory
- Strong background in pathology, particularly in the mechanisms of disease at the molecular level.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aging research, cellular senescence, or related areas
- Familiarity with computational biology and bioinformatics tools

The salary range for San Diego, CA:
- Senior Manager, Pathology: $215,900 - $292,100
