What You Will Contribute To Altos

Altos Labs is hiring a Global Benefits Manager to join our People Team. In this role, you will report to the Head of Total Rewards & Wellbeing. You will support our global benefits programs ensuring we are able to attract, engage, and retain diverse talent across all locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of U.S. and U.K. benefits portfolios, including health & wellness, retirement, pension, family support, time off programs, and policies to include vacation, leave of absence, holidays, sick time, etc.
  • Continually monitor external competitive landscape and emerging trends among benefits offerings across the globe and internal pulse of Altos Labs workforce 
  • Review and provide feedback related to data analytics in the research of market trends and benefits surveys
  • Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance with existing benefits programs, including group medical, dental, vision insurance, life and accident, disability, health saving accounts, COBRA, flexible spending, retirement, leaves of absence, and time off
  • Serve as main point of contact for Payroll team on benefits program processing and tax impact
  • Partner with payroll, accounting & other business partners to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits deductions, LOA pay, and provide recommendations for areas of efficiencies and process improvement
  • Lead, plan, and manage effective communications and education of benefits to include time off policies, open enrollment, wellness, etc.
  • Create and maintain employee benefits communication documents and resolve employee inquiries and benefits issues across multiple communication channels (email, Slack, internal ticketing system)
  • Compile meaningful data on benefits landscape, current utilization and ensure vendors & partners provide value and meet employees’ needs effectively
  • Support global benefits implementation and administration, including but not limited to identifying gaps, recommending solutions and implementing changes where needed.
  • Act as point of contact for third party LOA administrator to support U.S. leave of absence administration and accommodation requests
  • Manage and administer U.K. employee leaves, including employee and manager guidance and communication
  • Track worker’s compensation cases and accommodation requests in partnership with insurer and broker to ensure claims are handled in a timely manner and employees are able to receive timely treatment and care.
  • Improve and scale existing processes, including enrollment, changes, data management and internal cross-functional work.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a dynamic startup organization. You will be comfortable working within an evolving environment and can handle ambiguity. You are an in-the-moment problem solver and are able to stay focused on delivering an exceptional employee experience and scaling programs for the future. You thrive on building relationships and uncovering the employee sentiment around current offerings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of HR experience, including experience focused on EMEA benefits design and management
  • Demonstrated experience leading all aspects of benefits strategy, design, administration, and compliance for a global company
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills required (vlookup, pivot tables, large data audit comparisons)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Previous experience with effective management of multiple vendors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, including ability to represent the company and people team in a professional and positive manner across multiple audiences
  • Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of service and response
  • Ability to synthesize and present information and make recommendations to leadership
  • Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to also be effective independently

 

The salary range for Redwood City, CA:

  • Benefits Manager: $164,050- $221,950

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
