Overview
We're looking for a Junior Accountant to own the day-to-day bookkeeping for our Evansville operation and help keep the office running. This is a multi-purpose role. Most of your time goes to accounting: time entry, AP, AR, and month-end close. You'll also help answer customer calls and schedule service. You'll need a solid accounting foundation, whether from a degree or from hands-on experience, so you can step in quickly and learn our systems. You'll get exposure to the full accounting cycle and work directly with our leadership team. It's a strong fit for an accounting graduate who wants real ownership early, or for an experienced bookkeeper who wants a stable, established company.

Responsibilities
Accounting
  • Process weekly employee time entry accurately and on schedule
  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable: enter vendor invoices, match to POs where applicable, and process payments
  • Manage accounts receivable: invoice customers, post payments, track aging, and follow up on past-due accounts
  • Perform month-end close, including bank statement and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate customer and vendor records in QuickBooks
  • Verify that customer and job data transfers correctly from our scheduling portal into QuickBooks
  • Prepare reports and provide financial support to the Evansville leadership team
Customer Service & Office Support
  • Answer incoming calls and serve as a point of contact for customers
  • Schedule service calls and estimates, and communicate updates to technicians and customers
  • Support technicians with administrative needs to keep jobs moving
  • Complete special projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, OR 2+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • QuickBooks experience strongly preferred
  • Time entry or payroll experience a plus
  • Accounting experience in construction, plumbing, HVAC, or field services a plus
  • Comfortable on the phone with customers; customer service experience a plus
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Self-starter who picks up new systems quickly
What we offer
  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance and retirement benefits
  • PTO: vacation, sick, and holidays
  • Opportunities for continued growth
