ABOUT THE CRA TEAM

The Center for a Reimagined Africa (CRA) supports African public sector leaders in developing the expertise, experiences and partnerships needed to improve service delivery and outcomes for African citizens. Our flagship program is a year-long Public Sector Fellowship that brings together mid-to-senior government leaders charged with the design and implementation of key government projects that have significant impact on citizens.

THE ROLE

The Strategic Initiatives Senior Associate role focuses on internal and external communications across all CRA programs, stakeholder engagement and implementation of new initiatives at the Center. This is both a strategic and operational role that is critical for the center’s success. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a communications strategy for CRA covering all programs and all key audiences where the CRA seeks to grow its visibility
  • Develop and implement CRA’s stakeholder engagement strategy
  • Coordinate the CRA Alumni Council and provide thought partnership and implementation support where needed
  • Lead the design and implementation of new CRA programs and initiatives 
  • Support with other team priorities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Communications function experience at an agency or in-house
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Project management experience and a bias for action
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Design experience (whether events or programs) is a plus
  • Curiosity. The CRA is fairly new and provides an excellent opportunity to both learn and implement new things. You will enjoy and likely thrive in the role if you bring a sense of curiosity to it
  • Comfort with ambiguity. The CRA is a new organisation and things will inevitably change over time
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with competing deadlines and maintain a high level of calm under pressure
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • At least 3 years of work experience (post graduation)
