ABOUT THE ROLE

ALU is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Global Learning Experiences Sr. Associate to support the successful development, implementation, and operations of global learning experiences at the ALU Rwanda campus, including off campus Signature Immersive Experiences, visiting faculty and visiting experts programs, and joint learning experiences with ALU partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Visiting Faculty & Experts (VFE) Design & Operations:

  • Represent the Global Learning Experiences department with Visiting Experts and Faculty as well as partners in Rwanda
  • Support the logistics and operations related to Visiting Faculty and Experts (VFE), including but not limited to catering, transportation, accommodation, and on-campus operations.
  • Coordinate with the campus operations team to ensure seamless setup and technical support for VFE sessions.
  • Work with the GLE Lead to source and establish connections with potential visiting faculty and experts, ensuring alignment with ALU’s experiential learning goals.
  • Work closely with the VFEs to design an impactful learning experience for students during their visit, collaborating with faculty, academic leadership and COEs to integrate VFE-led sessions into the curriculum for online, campus and SIE based engagements, as well as plan extracurricular events during the VFE visit.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding process for VFEs, including orientation materials and ongoing support throughout their engagement at ALU.
  • Develop assessment tools and gather feedback from students and VFEs to continuously enhance the experience.
  • Ensure financial reconciliation and tracking expenses for VFEs on Rwanda campus

Study Abroad Signature Immersive Experiences (SIE) Operations:

  • In collaboration with the GLE Lead, associated LED specialist, and other stakeholders, support the design and operations of Mission-aligned SIEs that support ALU’s academic goals and experiential learning model.
  • With GLE lead, design and implement policies and procedures for student participation in study abroad programs, ensuring compliance with ALU’s standards and international regulations, including application process and deadlines, orientation and return orientation, and safety policies.
  • Develop effective orientation and support systems for students while they are abroad, including handbooks, emergency contact protocols, and access to mental health resources.
  • Work with to continuously update relevant assessment tools to evaluate the academic,experiential learning and operational excellence outcomes of study abroad programs.
  • Follow the hiring process to staff Signature Immersive Experiences, as appropriate and approved.

Partnerships Operations:

  • Support the implementation of joint learning experiences with partners in Rwanda, including managing on-ground operations and liaising with vendors
  • With the GLE Lead, design and integrate credit-bearing pathways for GLE experiences with partners

Project Management & Communications:

  • For the initiatives outlined above, the GLE Associate will be expected to directly project manage these programs or work closely with the GLE Lead, as appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, International Relations, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in higher education program management, event coordination and partnerships. Experience in learning experience design is a plus.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful experiential education programs.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and evaluation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Data-driven with multi-tasking abilities, big-picture vision, and effective conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or similar productivity tools.

  • Experience in international program development and management.
  • Experience with designing and managing budgets
  • Attention to detail and thorough project management.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to develop innovative programs.

  • Capacity to manage high-stress situations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

This position is based at the ALU campus in Rwanda.
