ABOUT THE CRA TEAM

The Center for a Reimagined Africa (CRA) supports African public sector leaders in developing the expertise, experiences and partnerships needed to improve service delivery and outcomes for African citizens. We run various  learning programs targeted at public sector officials at varying levels of seniority. 

THE ROLE

We are seeking a seasoned  Leadership development Trainer to design and deliver an experiential learning module on Leading Self and Teams within the ALU Conservation Leadership Fellowship, a 6-month program for senior government leaders in the conservation sector and other related areas.  This module will equip participants with leadership competencies to effectively manage themselves and inspire collaboration within their teams for improved performance. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Curriculum Development & Training Design

  • Design and deliver a structured curriculum aligned with Conservation leadership needs.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions that build self-awareness, strengthen interpersonal skills, and equip participants to foster healthier team dynamics and lead more effectively.
  • Integrate real-world case studies from government and the conservation sector  for applied learning
  • Design interactive and application-based learning (e.g., leadership competencies, team engagement strategies,) 

Training Delivery & Facilitation

  • Lead weekly virtual training sessions for a six-week period estimated to start in September/October 2025 to November/December 2025.
  • Facilitate one in-person workshop in a select African country. 
  • Guide participants in applying leadership  management frameworks to deepen self reflection,  team effectiveness, and drive tangible outcomes in their conservation efforts.

Collaboration with Other Trainers

  • Collaborate closely with other faculty members to ensure the leadership course is effectively integrated with other courses and the broader program, creating a cohesive and aligned learning experience for participants.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all young persons and vulnerable adults with whom we deal,  by adhering to ALU’s comprehensive safeguarding policy, maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to any violations of safeguarding standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in Organizational Development, Psychology, Leadership Development and Coaching, or related fields.
  • Experience in training,  coaching, or mentoring senior leaders in personal effectiveness and team leadership.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with experience leading virtual and in-person training.
  • Fluency in English.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Competitive contract rate (based on experience).
  • Travel and accommodation covered for in-person workshops in select African countries.

  • Remote (with one in-person training workshop  in a select African country)
