Associate Director, Biostatistics

The Associate Director of Biostatistics will play a key role in providing statistical leadership across multiple Phase 2 and 3 clinical trials. As the statistical lead, you will develop and oversee statistical analysis plans, ensure the quality and accuracy of deliverables, and manage CRO partners to meet project timelines and standards. This role requires expertise in simulation work, multiple imputation analyses, and late-phase clinical development.

You will work cross-functionally to support critical topline readouts, regulatory submissions, and corporate presentations, driving the success of Alumis’s clinical programs. This position reports to the Senior Director of Biostatistics.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead statistical analyses for clinical trial data interpretation and reporting.
- Serve as the Biometrics representative on cross-functional study teams and working groups.
- Develop and oversee statistical analysis plans (SAPs), mock TLFs, and clinical study reports.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to review data and resolve unique queries during data management and analysis.
- Oversee CRO activities, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to timelines.
- Perform independent quality control checks for key efficacy and safety endpoints.
- Provide ad-hoc analyses, including data listings and summary outputs, as needed.
- Support preparation of statistical content for NDA submissions, integrated summaries, publications, and presentations.
- Develop and maintain Biometrics processes to improve data accuracy and quality.
- Mentor junior team members or contractors as needed.
Professional Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biostatistics (or equivalent) with 6+ years of industry experience, or Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
- Late-phase clinical trial experience strongly preferred.
- Expertise in statistical experimental design, analysis, and clinical trial methodologies.
- Experience with simulation work and multiple imputation analyses.
- Proficiency with statistical software, including R and SAS.
- Strong ability to manage competing priorities, workflows, and deliverables within timelines.
- Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in regulatory submissions is a plus.
Education Requirement:
An advanced degree in Biostatistics or a related discipline.
Experience Requirement:
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the biopharma industry.
The salary range for this position is $225,000 USD to $235,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
This position is located in South San Francisco, CA and employees are expected to be onsite Tuesday-Thursday.* At this time we are not considering remote applicants.
