About the Role
We’re hiring a full-time Partner to join our team. As Partner, you’ll be at the forefront of sourcing, evaluating, and executing deals for our Harvard, Dartmouth, Women’s Fund and US Strategic Tech Fund, while collaborating across the broader AV platform.
The role is fundamentally T-shaped. It is a generalist investing role spanning sectors and stages, but with the encouragement to develop thesis areas. — Our focus is on Seed to Series A and select Growth opportunities. You’ll help shape a portfolio of 30-40 investments annually, deliver top-tier fund performance, and strengthen our position in the venture ecosystem.
You’ll work closely with the Managing Partner and broader team to identify high-potential companies, lead diligence and negotiation, and nurture relationships with founders, co-investors, and industry partners.
Your network will be critical here. Cultivating colleagues, VCs, founders to navigate your way into the most elite deals is essential. Your success will come from creativity, warmth, and smarts.
This is a hybrid role with an expectation of at least four days in the office each week.
What You’l Do
Deal Sourcing & Execution

Proactively source and evaluate high-quality deals aligned with AV’s investment thesis, maintaining a strong conversion rate from lead to close.

Independently generate pipeline opportunities while mentoring the team on sourcing strategies.

Lead structuring and negotiation efforts in partnership with the Managing Partner, bringing strategic judgment and collaborative dealmaking.

Oversee and ensure rigor in diligence processes, supporting delegation and review of work by junior team members.

Contribute to Portfolio management, cultivation, and exits
Market Insight & Portfolio Strategy

Track market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging sectors to inform investment strategy.

Build a track record of delivering strong returns, with focus on multiples, exit paths, and realized outcomes.

Cultivate a domain specialty to deepen sourcing advantage and investment acumen.
Leadership & Team Development

Coach and mentor Principals and Senior Associates, supporting their growth and reinforcing a high-performance culture.

Promote experimentation, critical thinking, and a disciplined approach to investing.

Help develop the next generation of venture talent within AV.
Firm Strategy & Brand

Align with and advance the firm’s investment thesis and strategic goals with a long-term, ownership mindset.

Cultivate relationships with founders, co-investors, industry leaders, and the AV community to expand our network and brand.

Represent AV externally, building your personal brand as an investor and thought leader.

Support internal and external communications, including semi-annual portfolio updates and investor engagement.
Operational & Strategic Support

Partner with the MP on fundraising activities: events, 1:1 meetings, webinars, and marketing efforts.

Contribute to cross-firm initiatives (Tiger Teams) and HQ priorities as needed.

Provide clear, steady leadership as the team navigates growth, complexity, and change.
Who You Are
- 10 - 12+ years of professional experience across venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or startups.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Alumni of Harvard or Dartmouth preferred

Background or interest in female founders or US Strategic Technology is a plus.

Alternatively, a depth of sector knowledge you can bring to the team is welcome.

Hands-on familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Gemini) and ability to integrate them into team workflows.
Compensation includes a starting base salary of $220,000 plus equity, carry potential, and corporate bonus.
