About the Role

Alumni Ventures is launching a new platform to connect prospective investors with the opportunity to invest directly in the AV management company. We're looking for a Manager, Capital Events to turn that inbound interest into meaningful investor relationships and completed investments, playing a direct role in supporting AV's growth and long-term capital strategy.

Reporting to the EVP of Investor Relations, you'll own the investor journey from initial conversation through close. With approximately 30–40 inbound calls per week, you'll have a steady flow of opportunities to build relationships, educate prospective investors, and guide them through the investment process. You'll join an established three-person Capital Events team responsible for raising equity and debt for the AV management company.

This is a consultative, education-first sales role for someone who enjoys connecting with people, can make complex financial concepts accessible, and takes pride in thoughtful, consistent follow-through. Success requires balancing a high volume of investor conversations with the personalized attention and credibility needed to build trust and convert interest into investment.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the inbound investor pipeline. Manage approximately 30–40 inbound calls per week with prospective AV management company equity investors, guiding each relationship from initial conversation through completed investment.
  • Make every conversation count. Research each prospect's background and prior interactions to prepare for relevant, personalized discussions that build trust and uncover investment goals.
  • Educate and advise prospective investors. Clearly explain Alumni Ventures, the venture capital asset class, and the opportunity to invest in the AV management company, while listening closely to investor questions, interests, and concerns.
  • Drive thoughtful, consistent follow-through. Maintain timely, personalized communication with every prospect, address outstanding questions, and help investors navigate the next steps toward an investment decision.
  • Keep the pipeline organized and moving. Maintain accurate CRM records, track investor activity and next steps, and proactively manage a high volume of relationships without losing attention to detail.
  • Improve the investor experience and conversion process. Partner with the EVP of Investor Relations and Capital Events colleagues to share investor feedback, refine messaging, identify opportunities to improve the process, and increase conversion.
  • Deliver measurable results. Take ownership of converting qualified inbound interest into completed AV management company equity investments, with accountability for pipeline progression and conversion outcomes.
  • Contribute across Capital Events. Support additional equity and debt capital-raising initiatives throughout the year as team priorities evolve.

Who You Are

  • You bring 3–5 years of client-facing experience in financial services, including experience discussing financial markets and investment-related topics with clients.
  • You have experience working with accredited and high-net-worth individuals and understand the importance of credibility, discretion, and trust in investor relationships.
  • You're a natural relationship builder who is personable, curious, and genuinely interested in understanding people's goals and perspectives.
  • You have demonstrated sales ability and take a consultative, education-first approach, using thoughtful questions, active listening, and clear explanations rather than high-pressure tactics.
  • You're an excellent verbal and written communicator who can make complex financial concepts approachable and adapt your style to different audiences.
  • You're highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage a large, active pipeline while maintaining personalized communication and consistent follow-through.
  • You're motivated by measurable outcomes, comfortable owning a conversion goal, and proactive about moving opportunities forward. You're comfortable using AI tools to research prospects, prepare for conversations, personalize follow-up, and improve efficiency while applying your own judgment to investor interactions.

A Note to Candidates
