ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of the ALX Morocco leadership team, the Recruitment & Marketing Specialist will play a central role in driving learner recruitment and building brand visibility. You will oversee both digital and on-the-ground initiatives, blending creative storytelling, growth hacking, and analytical thinking to generate strong traction and engagement. This role requires someone who operates with high ownership, thrives in fast-paced environments, and knows how to turn strategic direction into measurable outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies across digital and offline channels to recruit learners for ALX programs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Partnerships, LCE, Fellowship) to align marketing activities with broader learner engagement and retention goals.
  • Manage agency relationships and oversee paid and organic digital campaigns (social media, influencer marketing, email, etc.).
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance to continuously optimize spend and impact.

Creative Direction & Content

  • Lead the creative direction for marketing assets that reflect ALX’s brand identity while adapting to the Moroccan market.
  • Oversee content production (social, video, events, print) and ensure quality and alignment with brand voice.
  • Guide storytelling initiatives that communicate the value of ALX programs to both learners and parents.

Recruitment & Growth Hacking

  • Identify and implement innovative growth tactics that generate awareness and conversion beyond paid advertising.
  • Leverage organic acquisition levers such as ambassador networks, partnerships, virality loops, referral systems, and community activation.
  • Launch and optimize school activations, on-ground events, and ambassador-led campaigns.
  • Use data and insights to refine recruitment funnel performance across awareness, engagement, and conversion stages.

Stakeholder & Project Management

  • Serve as the marketing lead for Morocco, ensuring alignment between local execution and central strategy.
  • Manage cross-functional collaboration with the GM and other vertical leads.
  • Coordinate with agencies, vendors, and partners to deliver on timelines and performance metrics.
  • Ensure all marketing efforts are cohesive, measurable, and strategically aligned.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, recruitment, or brand management, ideally within education, youth, or tech ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to translate strategic mandates into structured, high-impact operational plans.
  • Strong project management skills with a record of independent execution and measurable delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder management across multiple teams and partners.
  • Portfolio showcasing successful, creative, and high-performing campaigns.
  • Highly proficient in marketing tools (Meta Ads, Google Ads, Figma, Canva, HubSpot or equivalents).
  • Strong data literacy and analytical mindset, capable of turning insights into action.
  • Fluency in growth hacking concepts: able to creatively attract learners through organic, cost-effective tactics beyond traditional paid media.
  • AI-literate and eager to integrate automation and innovation into everyday marketing operations.

Given the hybrid nature of the role, the selected candidate must demonstrate both autonomy and collaboration skills. They will be expected to operate independently within a distributed, virtual team while being physically present at our City Hubs (e.g., Casablanca, Rabat) and available for in-person meetings with partners or events whenever required.

Success in this role requires strong self-management, consistent communication using digital collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, etc.), and the ability to drive progress in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.
