This is a hands-on, associate-level role ideal for a highly organized, proactive, and community-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment. Your work will directly impact learners' success and their overall ALX journey.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Experience Design & Execution

  • Coordinate the physical setup and logistics to deliver high-quality experiences consistently.

Learner Engagement & Support

  • Be present and engaged at the hub, providing proactive support to learners and identifying those at risk of disengagement.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for learners’ technical and non-technical needs, escalating critical issues as needed.
  • Foster learner ownership and involvement through community initiatives and learner-led events.

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Help plan and deliver events that build community and celebrate progress (e.g. onboarding rituals, demo days, peer showcases).
  • Work with vendors, partners, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution and alignment with hub objectives.
  • Collect learner feedback and adjust formats to maximize relevance and engagement.

Data & Reporting

  • Track learner participation, engagement, and feedback using tools like Google Sheets, Excel, or Airtable.
  • Generate weekly reports and dashboards for the LCE Manager, including insights and suggested actions to improve retention and satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance and event outcomes.

Internal Communication & Content

  • Support internal campaigns and communications on platforms like WhatsApp, Slack, or email to inform and energize the community.
  • Draft clear, timely, and engaging copy to promote hub activities and reinforce the ALX experience.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and propose improvements.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in education, youth programming, events, operations, or community management
  • A Bachelor's degree in any field with a solid academic background

  • Humility: Open to feedback, always learning, and focused on serving others.
  • Adventure: Motivated by ambitious goals and inspired by the unknown.
