Graduate Community Coordinator: Addis Ababa

Role Summary
As the Graduate Community Coordinator, you will play a critical role in enabling our graduate community to drive career success, sustained engagement, and meaningful outcomes. You will design and execute high-impact initiatives that support the transition from learner to graduate, while strengthening participation, connection, and sustained engagement.
This role sits at the intersection of community building, relationship management, partnerships, event execution, and data analytics. While primarily focused on execution, you will also contribute insights and on-the-ground learnings to inform broader community strategy.
You will work cross-functionally to ensure graduates remain connected, supported, and positioned for career success. In parallel, you will help activate graduates as contributors to ALX’s growth through referrals, storytelling, and community-led initiatives that strengthen brand and recruitment.
Specific Responsibilities
Graduate Transition & Career Enablement
- Support graduates in their transition from learning into career pathways through immersive sessions, workshops, hackathons, CTFs, and industry engagement events.
- Design and coordinate career-focused activations, including career fairs, talent pipeline initiatives, and employer engagement sessions.
- Collaborate with partner companies to create structured opportunities for graduate placement and career exposure.
- Identify graduate career needs and translate insights into actionable programming.
Community Growth & Engagement
- Drive structured graduate engagement through immersive sessions, networking events, and community-led initiatives that strengthen belonging and long-term participation.
- Support initiatives that activate graduates as ambassadors, mentors, and advocates, contributing to community-led growth, referrals, and brand amplification.
- Capture and document graduate impact stories to amplify brand visibility and community pride.
Relationship Management & Outreach
- Segment graduates based on engagement level, career stage, and potential contribution to mentorship, recruitment, and storytelling initiatives.
- Manage graduate relationship tracking through CRM platforms such as HubSpot.
- Ensure accurate and real-time data capture across all graduate interactions.
- Lead or coordinate a team responsible for graduate engagement outreach and data collection.
Loyalty & Rewards Program Management
- Support the implementation and operational management of graduate loyalty and rewards systems (e.g., legacy points programs).
- Coordinate reward fulfilment processes, including vendor engagement, inventory management, and distribution logistics.
- Communicate reward eligibility, campaigns, and winner announcements clearly and consistently.
Partnerships & Talent Pipeline Development
- Support the positioning of ALX graduates as a high-quality talent pool, contributing to employer value propositions and repeat hiring pipelines.
- Build and maintain relationships with employer partners organizing career fairs and hiring initiatives.
- Coordinate employer and graduate engagement touchpoints to strengthen placement outcomes and build consistent hiring pipelines.
- Collect, analyse, and present graduate placement data to inform strategy, improve outcomes, and strengthen working relationships with partner companies.
Data, Analytics & Performance Tracking
- Track graduate engagement, outreach effectiveness, event participation, and career progression metrics.
- Develop dashboards and reports to inform community growth and strategic improvements.
- Maintain high-quality graduate data management systems.
- Use insights to continuously refine engagement and growth strategies.
Requirements
- Professional Experience: 3–5 years of experience in community management, graduate relations, partnerships, career services, operations, or youth development.
- Ownership and Accountability: Ability to take responsibility for initiatives, follow through consistently, and deliver high-quality outputs with attention to detail.
- Community Engagement and Activation: Demonstrated ability to build and sustain active communities, driving participation, engagement, and a sense of ownership across online and/or in-person environments.
- Program and Event Ownership: Proven experience designing, organising, and owning initiatives such as workshops, hackathons, career fairs, or immersion sessions from concept through execution and follow-through, ensuring high-quality delivery and participant experience.
- Partnership and Stakeholder Coordination: Experience working with partners, employers, or external stakeholders to support programs, events, or talent pipeline initiatives.
- Graduate Outcomes and Career Orientation: Demonstrated experience supporting or contributing to initiatives related to career pathways, job placement, or professional development, with a clear understanding of how community engagement drives tangible outcomes such as employment or skills application.
- Project and Operational Execution: Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, coordinate logistics, and ensure timely delivery.
- Data-Informed Execution: Ability to use data and metrics (e.g., engagement, participation, placement outcomes) to evaluate performance and improve community initiatives.
- CRM and Data Management: Experience managing relationships and tracking engagement through CRM systems (HubSpot preferred), ensuring accurate and structured data capture.
- Communication and Relationship Building: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build meaningful relationships.
- Technical and Digital Tools: Proficiency in tools such as Google Sheets, Excel, and other platforms used for data tracking, analysis, and operational coordination.
- AI and Digital Fluency: Comfort using AI-powered and digital tools to support communication, data analysis, content creation, and workflow efficiency, with a track of experimenting with or implementing tools that improve productivity and engagement.
