We’re looking for a Community Lead (Specialist level) to own and drive the ALX Morocco community experience across both learners and alumni. This role sits at the intersection of engagement, retention, and opportunity creation, ensuring a seamless and impactful journey from enrollment to post-graduation.
In this role, you will translate strategic priorities into structured community initiatives, independently manage your scope, and execute end-to-end engagement strategies across Morocco and emerging markets.

Role Summary
As Community Lead, you will be the single point of ownership for the ALX Morocco community across both learners and alumni.
You will be responsible for designing and executing engagement strategies that drive retention, belonging, and long-term community value. This includes structuring community journeys, activating engagement initiatives, and ensuring continuity between learner and alumni experiences.
Operating as a strong individual contributor, you will translate strategic direction into operational plans, independently manage execution, and proactively identify opportunities to strengthen community performance.
You will also contribute to positioning the community as a key driver of growth, engagement, and brand amplification, while supporting regional expansion efforts through structured systems and activation monitoring.
Specific Responsibilities
Community Strategy & Lifecycle Management
- Design and execute a unified community strategy covering both learners and alumni
- Build structured community journeys from onboarding to post-graduation engagement
- Segment the community (learners, alumni, programs, engagement levels) to enable targeted and relevant initiatives
- Identify key engagement moments and design initiatives to improve retention and belonging
- Align community initiatives with national and regional priorities
Learner & Alumni Engagement
- Drive community activation through events, programs, and engagement initiatives (online and offline)
- Build and manage scalable engagement formats (clubs, ambassador programs, peer-learning, alumni chapters)
- Ensure continuity between learner and alumni experience to avoid drop-off post-graduation
- Maintain strong communication channels and ensure high responsiveness to community needs
Community-Led Growth & Advocacy
- Design and support community-led growth initiatives (referrals, ambassador programs, UGC)
- Activate learners and alumni as advocates to support recruitment and brand visibility
- Collaborate with Marketing to amplify community-driven content and campaigns
- Track and optimize the impact of community initiatives on engagement and enrollment
Activation Monitoring & Regional Support
- Support community activations across regions (e.g., Tunisia, Senegal) by providing structure and guidance
- Monitor activation performance and ensure consistency in execution across markets
- Identify gaps and propose improvements to strengthen community performance
- Contribute to scaling community models through structured and repeatable approaches
Community Systems, Platforms & Playbooks
- Build and maintain structured community playbooks (activation formats, engagement models, ambassador programs)
- Ensure replicability of successful initiatives across markets
- Manage and optimise community platforms (WhatsApp, Telegram, internal tools, social channels)
- Ensure clear communication, strong engagement, and effective use of community tools
Opportunities & Ecosystem Support
- Support the distribution and visibility of opportunities (jobs, events, partnerships, perks) to the community
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure strong value creation for both learners and alumni
- Contribute to building a connected ecosystem between learners, alumni, and external stakeholders
Data, Insights & Continuous Improvement
- Track key metrics such as engagement, retention, participation, and community health
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks
- Collect and structure feedback from learners and alumni (surveys, interactions, events)
- Translate insights into actionable improvements for community strategy and execution
Community Voice & Brand Amplification
- Identify and amplify learner and alumni success stories
- Contribute to shaping the community voice through authentic storytelling
- Collaborate with Marketing to translate community insights into impactful content
- Strengthen the visibility and perception of ALX through community narratives
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, Operations, and Partnerships teams to align community efforts
- Ensure community is integrated into broader acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies
- Act as the voice of the community in internal discussions and planning
Essential Skills & Experience
- 4–6+ years of experience in community management, learner experience, alumni engagement, or similar roles
- Proven ability to independently manage and execute end-to-end community initiatives
- Strong ability to translate strategy into structured operational plans
- Experience building and scaling communities (online and/or offline)
- Strong understanding of engagement levers, community dynamics, and youth ecosystems
- Experience with community-led growth approaches (referrals, ambassadors, UGC) is a strong plus
- Strong data literacy (Excel / Google Sheets): able to track and interpret engagement metrics
- Excellent communication skills (French & English required)
- Strong stakeholder management across internal teams and external partners
- Ability to operate independently with minimal guidance while staying aligned with leadership priorities
- Structured thinker with strong organisational and execution skills
- AI-literate and comfortable leveraging tools to improve productivity and community management

Given the nature of the role, the position is primarily remote. However, the selected candidate is expected to be regularly present at the City Hub whenever required.
This includes leading and supporting key community activations, engaging directly with learners and alumni, and ensuring strong on-the-ground execution of community initiatives.
Success in this role requires a high level of flexibility, ownership, and the ability to seamlessly operate between strategic planning and in-person community engagement.
