Transforming the lives of those affected by severe mental illness

At Amae Health, we are dedicated to helping the 15.4 million Americans living with severe mental illness (SMI) lead stable, meaningful lives, while ending the cycle of repeat hospitalizations. In partnership with some of the nation’s top academic medical centers we’ve pioneered an innovative outpatient care model that combines compassionate, in-person psychiatric care with comprehensive wraparound support. Our integrated care teams — including psychiatrists, therapists, primary care physicians, health coaches, and peer support specialists — work together to treat the whole person via a unique model, addressing physical, mental, and social needs in unison. By caring for every aspect of our patients’ well-being, we help them not just survive, but truly thrive.

Amae Health is a Series A venture-backed Public Benefit Corporation dedicated to becoming the nation's center of excellence for individuals living with severe mental illness (SMI). Backed by top-tier venture capital firms and strategic healthcare investors, we collaborate with prestigious health systems including NewYork-Presbyterian, Stanford Healthcare, and Cedars-Sinai, underscoring our commitment to fundamentally transforming mental health care delivery at scale.

The Team:

At Amae we are a collective of healthcare leaders and technologists on a mission to create a radically different patient-first behavioral health care model that truly transforms patient’s lives by integrating care delivery, patient experience, cutting edge technology and research. Join a team of operators, builders and technologists from One Medical, Forward Health, Stanford, Hinge Health, Palantir, The Four Seasons, and Brightline as we redefine care for the most vulnerable populations - across the nation, at scale. We’ve recently closed our Series B fundraise and are honored and excited to grow our impact in the SMI space.

The Opportunity:

At Amae, we’re on a mission to reimagine how care is delivered, powered by technology, anchored in empathy, and guided by real human impact. We’re seeking a Head of Product to design, execute, and optimize Amae Health’s patient facing technology. As the Head of Product, you’ll report directly to the CEO and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our product strategy as we scale - how patients and families access our precision psychiatry platform and services, ensuring our solutions are both impactful and scalable beyond the walls of in person care. You’ll drive the full Product lifecycle, from vision to launch to iteration; inclusive of patient-facing product strategy end-to-end: from pricing and packaging, to engagement and retention mechanics, ensuring everything we build meaningfully improves lives. Working cross functionally with executive, operational, engineering and data leaders, you’ll help expand our offerings and maximize impact, all while modeling the values that define Amae.

What you will work on:

  • Lead with purpose. Build and grow high-impact product focused on user-centered design, data-driven decisions, and agile development, with speed and intention.
  • Be a voice for our members. Obsess over every detail of the user experience. Design products that not only solve problems but move people emotionally.
  • Use AI for good. Spearhead the integration of AI across the company, elevating how we support our members and scaling our teams with cutting-edge, human-centric tools.
  • Shape the future. Define and evolve a multi-year product vision that inspires, drives measurable health outcomes, and supports scalable growth.
  • Bridge strategy to impact. Translate big-picture business strategy into an actionable product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives that deliver tangible value to members, teams, and the broader healthcare ecosystem.

About You:

You’re a product leader and builder who thrives in fast-paced, ever-evolving environments  with a particular focus on the intersection of emerging technology, user experience, and business outcomes. With a strong track record of launching innovative products from the ground up, you see ambiguity as a chance to create clarity and drive progress. You bring a deep understanding of what makes subscription products stick, running smart experiments that optimize pricing, conversion, and retention.

Equally analytical and creative, you're as comfortable reading SQL dashboards and building financial models as you are brainstorming new engagement flows or packaging strategies. You lead with high emotional intelligence, low ego, and a deep sense of empathy, particularly when it comes to the unique sensitivities of healthcare. Whether collaborating cross-functionally or presenting to the board, you bring strategic vision, hands-on execution, and an unwavering focus on scalable, human-centered impact. You’re not just building products, you’re focused on redefining what’s possible in care.

What you’ll have:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience leading product teams in innovative, high growth organizations, experience building from 0-1 ideal, experience leveraging AI required
  • Expertise in owning the end to end product lifecycle, from ideation, to discovery, to launch, optimization and iteration
  • Proven ability to build and scale product within an organization, reinforced with data-driven decision-making, including proficiency in leveraging product analytics, A/B testing, and user insights to guide product direction
  • Strong understanding of go-to-market strategies, customer acquisition funnels, and monetization models in a D2C framework, ideally with exposure to subscription models and related growth mechanics
  • Familiarity with AI-driven or LLM-powered consumer products
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills; talented  at influencing C-level executives, board members, and cross-functional peers
  • Ability to work in-person 5 days a week  in our San Francisco Headquarters

More About Amae:

'Amae', pronounced ‘Ah-mai’, is a Japanese concept meaning the need to be in good favor with, and the ability to depend on, the people around oneself. It reflects our core belief that a strong support system is essential to build people up, strengthen their will to carry on and even to thrive in life. This mentality applies across our whole company – from the patients we serve to the team we’re building.

We’re a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) that provides outpatient psychiatric and primary care health services through value-based care arrangements. Our model’s success is predicated upon achieving outcomes for our patients, not on the volume of services provided.

Amae Health is an equal opportunity employer and encourages all applicants from every background and life experience to apply.
