Who We Are
Amae Health is a Series B, venture-backed Public Benefit Corporation delivering specialty outpatient care for people with severe mental illness through high-acuity, in-person clinics nationwide.
Our integrated model brings psychiatry, therapy, primary care, dietitians, and community support together under one roof. Leading health systems—including NewYork-Presbyterian, Cedars-Sinai, Mass General Brigham, Novant Health, and CommonSpirit—partner with us to expand this level of care.
Alongside care delivery, we are building the science and technology the field has long lacked—proprietary clinical protocols, novel measurement, and an AI-driven data platform designed for severe mental illness.

The Team
We are clinicians, operators, technologists, and scientists who chose Amae because the problem is hard and the stakes are real. We are not interested in incremental improvements to a broken system—we are redefining it.
Our teams work cross-functionally because the work demands it. The psychiatrist informs the product roadmap. Engineers understand the clinical complexity their technology must solve. Researchers sit alongside the operators running the clinics their work measures.

The Role
Amae Health is seeking a Head of Talent to lead and scale our recruiting function during a critical period of growth.
As we expand clinics across multiple markets and continue building our corporate teams, hiring exceptional talent—both clinical and operational—will be one of the most important determinants of our success.
Reporting to the VP of People, this role will own the recruiting function end-to-end: strategy, systems, team leadership, and execution.
In this dual-impact role, you will analyze recruitment metrics to optimize our talent engine and directly execute full-cycle searches for our most critical roles. The right candidate is a builder who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys designing recruiting systems from the ground up.
This role will also help lead innovation within the recruiting function, identifying opportunities to incorporate AI-enabled tools and automation to improve sourcing, screening, candidate engagement, and recruiting operations.
What You’ll Do
Build and Scale the Recruiting Function
- Own Amae’s recruiting strategy as we scale clinics and corporate teams across multiple markets.
- Partner with executive leadership to translate growth plans into clear hiring roadmaps.
- Design recruiting processes that are efficient, rigorous, and built to scale.
Lead and Develop the Recruiting Team
- Manage and mentor Amae’s recruiting team.
- Establish clear expectations, standard work, metrics, and operating rhythms.
- Create a strong partnership model between recruiters and hiring managers.
Own Critical Searches
- Personally recruit for senior or mission-critical roles when needed.
- Help close key hires and support recruiters on difficult searches.
- Ensure Amae maintains a high hiring bar while moving quickly.
Build a Clinical Hiring Engine
- Develop strategies to hire exceptional clinical talent across markets, including psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and clinic leadership.
- Build relationships with training programs, professional networks, and healthcare communities.
- Partner closely with clinical leadership to ensure hiring quality and alignment.
Recruiting Operations and Infrastructure
- Improve recruiting workflows, systems, and tools.
- Own recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, pipeline health, offer acceptance, and quality of hire.
- Use data to continuously refine hiring strategy.
- Identify and implement AI-enabled tools and automation that make the recruiting function faster, smarter, and more scalable.
Employer Brand and Candidate Experience
- Position Amae as an employer of choice for mission-driven clinicians and operators.
- Ensure candidates experience a thoughtful, organized, and respectful hiring process.
- Help articulate why Amae is one of the most meaningful places to build a career in healthcare.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing recruiters.
- Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Experience hiring across multiple functions, ideally including healthcare or clinical roles.
- Proven ability to build recruiting systems and processes in scaling organizations.
- Strong operational instincts and a data-driven approach to recruiting.
- Comfort operating in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve.
- Experience in applying AI and emerging technologies to improve recruiting workflows.
- Strong communicator who can partner effectively with candidates, hiring managers, and leadership.
- Passion for Amae’s mission.
Nice to Have
- Experience recruiting for healthcare but not required.
- Experience building recruiting functions in early-stage or scaling companies.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation includes a base salary of $135,000 - $195,000 (based on level, experience & geography) plus equity ownership, giving you a meaningful stake in Amae's growth. Total compensation includes comprehensive medical/dental/vision, unlimited PTO, parental leave, and programs built around employee well-being. We’ll share specifics during the interview process.
