About the Role:
We are looking for a seasoned Staff DevOps Engineer to lead the design, automation, and operation of our cloud infrastructure. This is a senior-level role responsible for setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and implementing best-in-class DevOps practices across the organization. You will be instrumental in driving infrastructure scalability, availability, security, and observability as we expand our cloud-native platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure on AWS using Terraform and Ansible.
- Lead Kubernetes (EKS) cluster design, management, and optimization.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to support development and deployment lifecycles.
- Manage and monitor RDS/Aurora instances, including performance tuning and backup strategies.
- Implement and fine-tune system observability platforms using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
- Own Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) for platform resiliency
- Define and enforce infrastructure-as-code best practices and DevSecOps standards.
- Act as a technical mentor and guide to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Lead cost optimization efforts across Cloud platforms
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with industry frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001).
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvements.
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional engineering initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- 15–20 years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or site reliability roles.
Deep expertise in AWS services including VPC, IAM, RDS, EC2, KMS,SNS, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch. - Hands-on experience with EKS and Kubernetes workload orchestration.
- Proficient in Terraform, Ansible, and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Strong understanding of networking, security groups, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with designing scalable CI/CD pipelines using modern tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.).
- Strong experience with observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack, etc..
- Strong knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, NIST, CIS benchmarks).
- Familiar with AWS IoT or device management platform
- AWS and Kubernetes certifications preferred (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CKA/CKAD).
- Some experience in AI/MLOps especially in the field of Observability and/or Cybersecurity
Preferred Soft Skills:
- Proven mentorship and leadership experience in cross-functional DevOps teams.
- Ability to collaborate with developers, security, and product stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High degree of ownership and accountability in fast-paced environments.
