Summary:

You are accountable for the quality of the solution design that is used to quote smart apartment projects, set customer expectations, and enable operations. In your role, you are responsible for reviewing project plans and managing site inspections that gather infrastructure details. You’ll create the solution design and recommendations and review those with the regional sales manager and customer. Lastly, you must ensure that each of your projects are seamlessly transferred to the implementation team after a deal has closed. Your work will enable operations to deliver a high-quality experience and create a best in class experience.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Discovery and Qualification: Accompany RSMs on calls with prospects to run discovery and qualification focused on uncovering problems and opportunities from a technology or operational perspective.
  • Sales Presentations: Partner with RSMs to present the benefits of smart apartments. Your role will focus on fielding questions and objection handling especially for technical or operational topics. 
  • Inspection and Solution Design: Collect building plans and manage onsite inspections, conduct thorough analysis of physical and networking considerations, take initiative to collect more data as needed, and produce quality solution designs that address customer needs within their constraints. 
  • Proposals: Create customer proposals based on solution designs and present those proposals to prospects along with the RSM. 
  • Negotiation and Refinement: Work with prospects to revise proposals and support RSM negotiations with prospects in service of signing contracts. 
  • Quality Handoffs: Brief Project Managers on the details of solution designs to set them up for successful implementations.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration - Takes initiative to work with members of other teams in a professional and collaborative manner to drive results. Willing to disagree while remaining open to others’ ideas.
  • Technologist - Maintain and constantly seek ways to develop your technical proficiency, especially with regard to IoT devices, device communication protocols (e.g. z-wave, zigbee, wifi, bluetooth, etc.), and networking fundamentals. Must be effective as a bridge between Engineering and Sales, and recognize technical limitations and considerations that influence the solution design. Should also have a basic understanding of enterprise software platforms and be able to review and understand API specifications.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience, with 2+ years in a customer facing role for a SaaS product or other technology product, ideally with a B2B or B2B2C focus
  • Experience in solution engineering and design work for an enterprise software and/or hardware platform preferred.
  • Able to maintain a professional remote work setting, such as a home office
  • Can travel for business purposes up to 40% over the course of the year
