Sales Assistant - APA HVAC Technologies

Role: Sales Assistant
You will play a crucial role supporting (2) sales team members in NH and ME, helping to promote the APA brand. This is an exciting time at APA with explosive growth and representation of the best products in the industry. We are looking for results-oriented team members who take pride in the products and services they can offer to customers and colleagues.
You will assist with the execution of projects from design through closeout. This entails conducting detailed reviews of project documents to develop competitive estimates through an organized workflow. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of major projects while gaining exposure to our impressive portfolio of work
Responsibilities:
- Support/collaborate with (2) sales team members that represent our products in the NH and ME territories. This will be your most important collaboration as you will help support their clients and projects.
- Develop technical knowledge of our products through commitment to professional development through factory training (requires some traveling), company lunch & learns and continuous improvement.
- Participate in estimating, pre-qualification and pre-bid meetings with full engagement.
- Review design documents and specifications to provide pricing estimates.
- Perform takeoffs and generate project scope.
- Work in Excel spreadsheets with detailed breakouts of costs/sell prices.
- Work directly with manufacturers as required to obtain factory quotes and complete all bid requirements.
- Use manufacturer selection programs to configure equipment for pricing documentation and proposal creation.
- Assist with technical support and compiling submittal packages.
- Work closely with sales team members during technical submittal reviews.
- Order, process and track equipment purchase in conjunction with an internal software platform.
- Maintain constant and clear communication with sales team members through all aspects of the project.
- Compile installation, operation and maintenance manuals and closeout documentation for projects.
- Manage virtual files for projects that you are involved with.
- Support database management, bid forecast and pipeline as required.
Requirements:
- Organized and detail orientated.
- The ability to closely collaborate. We achieve success together. The team is looking for people who want to contribute and grow together.
- Clear communication. You will be interacting with team members, manufacturers, and clients. Strong written and verbal communication is key.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe or Bluebeam.
Preferred:
- Engineering Degree
- Prior estimating experience is not required, but a plus.
Locations:
- Ability to work out of our MA office in Newburyport, or ME office in Kennebunk. Occasional work-from-home option is available.
Estimated compensation: $75,000 - $90,000/yr with flexibility based on experience and skills.
