Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled NEBB Certified TAB Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HVAC systems and a passion for ensuring optimal system performance. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a dedication to upholding industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing:
- Perform comprehensive testing, adjusting, and balancing of HVAC air and hydronic systems in accordance with NEBB standards.
- Utilize specialized instruments to measure airflow, pressures, temperatures, and velocities.
- Data Collection and Analysis:
- Accurately record all measurements and observations.
- Analyze data to assess system performance and identify discrepancies.
- Report Preparation:
- Compile detailed reports documenting findings, procedures, and recommendations.
- Present clear and concise information to clients and project stakeholders.
- System Verification:
- Verify the functionality of mechanical systems, including VAVs, fans, pumps, and control devices.
- Ensure systems operate efficiently and meet design specifications.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other technicians.
- Communicate effectively to coordinate project activities and resolve issues.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Stay updated on codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Certification:
- Current NEBB Certification as a TAB Technician is mandatory.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in HVAC testing, adjusting, and balancing.
- Proven track record of successfully completed TAB projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in using TAB instruments and equipment.
- Solid understanding of HVAC system components and operation.
- Familiarity with building automation systems and controls.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PDF editing software (Bluebeam), etc...
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills as technology changes.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites as required. This position will require travel throughout southern California. Our primary markets are in San Diego, Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles Counties with projects as far away as Idaho on occasion.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends, to meet project deadlines is mandatory.
Compensation: $40-$50/hr DOE
