Position Summary
This position’s primary responsibilities include administrative and customer service duties associated with the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) for mission critical projects. This person will receive and process orders, proactively identify opportunities to improve our service and make recommendations accordingly. They are responsible for resolving product availability and order status issues and performing all related administrative duties related to the post-sale coordination for HVAC product delivery. The mission critical business is a fast-paced environment where a premium is placed on communication, sense of urgency and response time. Success in this position is determined by an internal drive for excellence, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and implement new strategies all while being a great teammate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate and clearly update customers on equipment delivery, service work and other commitments that align with the project schedule.
- Provide customer service regarding material and order status via phone and/or email
- Complete order entry or quote preparation of HVAC equipment using CRM and/or manufacturer's software
- Coordinate with factories/ manufacturers to ensure on-time delivery of product
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve the flow of product and process
- Perform analytical and administrative tasks
- Work with key personnel to optimize our costs and customer service
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related work experience
- Creative problem solver with the ability to resolve conflicts and determine a path forward
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Self-starting, dependable, accepts ownership, drives own goals/performance
- Ability to learn and interpret technical and contractual language
Working Conditions
· Primarily office- and field-based, with frequent customer visits and meetings.
· Standard business hours, Monday–Friday, with flexibility required to support client schedules.
· Regular regional travel; occasional overnight or national travel depending on assigned projects.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
· Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally (office supplies, packages, or event materials).
· Ability to move between departments to support office tasks and coordination.
Compensation
This is a full-time, hourly position with competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications, plus eligibility for Johnson Barrow’s performance-based bonus program. The company also offers a comprehensive benefits package and reimburses all business travel expenses in accordance with company policy.
