Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a central role in managing the company’s accounting functions, focusing on maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth month-end and year-end close processes. This position supports accrual-based accounting operations with strong involvement in POC accounting, inventory management, and prepaid and lease accounting. This role will be done on site, 3-4 days a week in our Salt Lake city, Utah office.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Manage accrual-based accounting processes, ensuring the accurate recognition of receipts and payments.
- Support percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting for construction projects, including job cost and revenue recognition tracking.
- Perform inventory accounting functions, including reconciliation, valuation, and cost adjustments.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, leases, and fixed assets.
- Support ongoing improvements in accounting processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial data.
- Assist with audit preparation, financial analysis, and ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Collaborate across departments to align accounting records with project operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 5–7+ years of accounting experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or HVAC industries.
- Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting, POC, inventory, and general ledger management.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Business Central or QuickBooks.
- Solid knowledge of prepaid accounting, lease accounting, and month-end close processes.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Compensation: This role starts at $90,000 DOE
