Role Overview:

We are offering a Master’s student internship in the area of Foundation IP characterization, where the intern will work on validating, analyzing, and benchmarking digital standard cells, I/Os, and embedded memory IPs. This role is ideal for students interested in bridging circuit design and silicon implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform circuit-level simulation and characterization of foundation IPs (standard cells, memories, I/O libraries).
• Develop and automate FIP characterization flows
• Support corner case analysis across process, voltage, and temperature variations.
• Validate IP deliverables against industry-standard EDA tools and design flows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, CAD, product engineering) to ensure IP quality and robustness.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related fields.
• Strong background in FinFET circuit design, transistor-level analysis, and digital standard cell operation.
• Experience with SPICE and Monte Carlo simulations, scripting (Python/Perl/TCL), and EDA tools (Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, Liberate).
• Familiarity with device characterization methodologies and statistical variations.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of library characterization standards (Liberty, LEF/DEF, Verilog models).
• Exposure to silicon validation and correlation workflows.
• Project or research experience in standard cell or memory characterization.
