Summary: A Massage Clinic Supervisor cultivates the school’s mission and objectives through student supervision, instruction, guidance and review in order to ensure the successful professional and personal development of each student as a massage therapist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
Program/Course:
- Assists with scheduling of students to perform hours in the Student Massage Clinic.
- Schedules client appointments in the Student Massage Clinic.
- Attends in-service training and/or continuing education seminars and faculty meetings, as needed.
- Keeps accurate records of student attendance and progress,
- Supervises massage and bodywork sessions performed by students.
- Performs other duties as required by the Program Director, Managing Instructor and/or the Director of Education.
Student Development:
- Maintains an environment in the clinic which fosters students’ growth of both hard and soft skills as a massage therapist and helps guide students’ professional development.
- Keeps the Program Director, Managing Instructor and/or Director of Education apprised of student progress (i.e. performance and attendance), especially in terms of performance trends detrimental to the development of a firm massage therapy and bodywork foundation.
- Provides extra help to those students experiencing difficulty in the mastery of hands-on skills; this includes demonstration of proper techniques and/or body mechanics.
- Advises students who have minor problems which may be thwarting progress in the clinic. Refers students whom have major problems to the Program Director. Managing Instructor and/or Director of Education.
- Report damaged, broken, or malfunctioning equipment immediately to the Program Director, Managing Instructor and/or Director of Education.
- Reviews client intake forms and SOAP notes for each session submitted by students to ensure proper documentation is completed which is required to be in compliance with industry standards and demonstrates the students’ ability to assess and treat clients.
- Ensures that students adhere to the clinic guidelines and bring any issues concerning behavior and/or performance to the attention of the Program Director, Managing Instructor and/or Director of Education.
Compliance:
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and, and internal policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Required Skills/Education/Experience:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 3 years of experience in the field of massage therapy
- Massage therapy license by state performing supervision.
- Fluent in English, verbal, written, presentation and comprehension.
- Able to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- This is an on-campus position.
- Frequent standing, walking, and hands-on demonstration is required.
Anticipated starting salary is based on experience and qualifications.
Compensation Range
$23 - $24 USD
